I always find so many amazing jeans at the thrift store, yet there always something a little off with the sizing. However, with lots of research i've found A BUNCH of ways to fix that! So here are the ten ways that I like to take in/ downsize my jeans at home!

most of the jeans in this vid are thrifted so they were really cheap! Walmart also sells great mom jeans for about 10 dollars!

Do the last one then so that way you can always seem rip the floss/thread just don’t cut them right away. Sew them, then if you are pleased then cut them😁 I’m only doing shorts so I only need to take in the back no cutting for me

This is amazing. I’m really short, and I find that jeans will fit well in the thigh/hip area but almost always, without fail, gap in the waist. If I find a pair that fits well in the waist, it’s way too tight on my thighs/hips, which is infuriating. So happy I stumbled upon this vid. Thank you!!!!!

just did the last technique to three of my jeans! it was kind of confusing at first but it definitely helped the sizing A LOT. although, the back will look a little weird but nothing an oversized shirt can’t fix! i’m OBSESSED with your videos melanie!!

Being skinny is NOT fit. It's hard to look at someone's body and automatically assume they're fir. Technically an overweight person could be fit as well and I've even seen some amazing obese ppl who can do the splits. Stop praising skinny and stop praising fat. Self love is the only love. Go workout by yourself lol And no this comment isn't just directed at u. its for all the stupid comments that call her sexy and etc etc. Like 1st off: its not right to sexualize someone.

aaaa i recently bought some cool 80s inspired jeans (i wanna pull off that glam metal look 😎) off of one of my favorite depop sellers since i don't have any thrift stores nearby and they're a bit big (although i expected them to be big because i basically wear kids sizes lmao i am very small) and this really helps!! i usually just throw a belt on but this gives me way more options!!!

I bought flare jeans on Amazon in small (the smallest size they had) and i was swimming in them. They were the perfect length (im 5'1 and finding bell bottoms in my length is hard). I paid $35 and I got quoted like $35-$50 to tailor them. So now I'm going to try it by hand.

you can google tutorials for "ladder stitch"! basically she is using ladder stitch to sew the diagonal of the triangle to the center seam.

i’ve kinda started hating jeans now cos i can’t seem to find a pair that actually fit properly. like the legs would fit perfectly but the waist would actually be HUGE cos i have a small waist and upper body and quite chunky thighs so it’s so hard to find jeans that fit me properly 😔 i’ve tried wearing a belt but even the belt is too big and i’ve had to make some extra holes but then the jeans kinda just bulge out at the front and the bag and it looks like i’m wearing a sack…. i’m gonna try some of these methods to see if they work

Ha! Found ‘em! I just typed in “elastic band with holes” on Amazon! In case anyone else was wondering (bc I’m afraid the holes i would otherwise make myself would not hold up as nicely)

"I don't know how long this _trend_ will last" (1:28) 😂 it's been a thing among "skater" subculture since at least as far back as the late aughts. It may, ofc, drop off at some point in "TikTok" fashion but it'll likely persist among skaters since, in that context, it's utilitarian foremost -a) shoelaces don't dig into the stomach while bending and doing tricks as proper belts tend to; b) skate shoes commonly come with an extra pair of laces.
