I am quite amazed (and annoyed) at how few videos there are on youtube about using Ableton live (the DAW made for performance) for LIVE! haha. pretty ironic. 99% are all about using the traditional composing way. well I got another DAW for that, and no offense ableton but your not the strongest kid on the block for traditional DAW composition. I need you for Live!

Is this a Windows system or Mac? Windows 10 has a few settings that can result in crackles until they're set the right way. For example, Power Options > Power plan > Advanced Power Settings: in here are a few things that can cause issues (make sure you keep notes if you change anything, so that you can put it back later). For one thing, the Ultimate Performance plan may not be engaged by default. In the Advanced Power Settings > Processor Power Management, setting both Minimum and Maximum to 100% may solve your issues immediately. You might find that changing USB Selective Suspend to Disabled solves the crackle issue, if it's affecting the interface. See if you can solve the problem without spending money. If not one of these, there may well be some other software switch that magically fixes it. If all else fails, I have heard a lot of complaints about that particular Tascam interface with regard to driver quality and RTL (round-trip latency).

@@joechapman8208 Hey, thanks a lot for your response!! I am on Windows and unfortunatelly, I have already checked (on differents forums) this tip. My Processor Windows settings was set to 100%.. I checked more than one times all the drivers I have (escpecially Tascam drivers) but it is not better.. I think I am going to buy a new soundcard. What do you think about the Scarlett Focusrite 2i2?? Is it a good soundcard to manage heavy plugins like "BIAS FX 2"?? Thanks for your help ^^

@@lucascatozza189 Well, they've sold millions of them, so they're reliable. The real selling point of those was always the pre-amps for that price, but they're not very powerful in terms of speed. Not bad, though: roughly in the middle of performance in the market, and considering that the very best cost £1000 or more, that's pretty impressive for units that cost around £100-200. I have one as a backup device in case anything goes wrong with my main interface and I still need to work. It's fine, but when you've used one of those and an interface that has a low RTL (round-trip latency, as mentioned before) it really highlights how important RTL is. Pops and crackles by themselves could conceivably be a hardware issue in the signal chain, but when you've got poor performance as well, the problem is in the data. Packets aren't being moved fast enough to maintain smooth playback, and when they clutter up in the chain you get these glitches and dropouts. This happens with any system once it's asked to do more than it can, but in your case that limit is coming far too soon. You will find complaints about these glitches for just about any interface in existence, including Focusrites, so it's impossible to tell you, "Get this and your problems are guaranteed to be over," which why I am cautious in my advice. There might be a fundamental issue with your computer, or a certain interface's drivers just might not play nicely with your particular CPU, and without being able to see your computer myself I don't know if I might discover something really simple in Windows where we'd change one setting and have a Eureka moment with your Tascam. As I say, I *think* you'll be fine with a Focusrite. They tend to work well, the company's support team are reasonably helpful, and they constantly update the drivers to keep up with Windows. That said, the difference in performance between my computer attached to a 2i2 and my computer attached to my current interface, an Antelope Discrete, is enormous. However, I don't recommend Antelope, for PC at least. Having seen so many complaints online about their support, and my own experience of their helpline being terrible too, I nearly gave up on getting this working at all, but then I discovered that some freeware by Voicemeeter somehow makes it work. I am grudgingly hanging on to this thing because the RTL is so good, but I can't tell you in good conscience to get one, especially at this price. (Before you cast out the Tascam, you might as well try Voicemeeter too, just to see: vb-audio.com/Voicemeeter/ I have no idea why it makes Antelope devices work on Windows, but since it does and it's free, it's worth a try! Install it and select your device's ASIO in the Hardware Out in the top right, and in your sequencer's settings select either the Tascam ASIO or the Voicemeeter one if that doesn't work. It's just possible it might solve your problems with no further loss of money!) Unfortunately, great RTL performance tends to come at a price. Sometimes it's just the money for the interface, and there might be extra costs if the unit demands a connection such as Thunderbolt that you might not have. The top brands for low latency are RME, Antelope, Lynx. Presonus's Quantum are in that range of the top performers too, but that doesn't mean all Presonus gear is great (the Presonus 192 is one of the worst interfaces in terms of RTL, but I'd be perfectly happy to use a Quantum: note that you need the right Thunderbolt port to use a Quantum, though). UAD are good, and you get that advantage of using the interface to run some plugins which takes pressure off your PC (don't buy the Arrow models though: I went through two of them during a heatwave, and they both overheated badly and had to be sent back).

@@lucascatozza189 I forgot to mention: if you ever want to test a PC setup to see if it should be capable of audio work, use the freeware LatencyMon.
