The Souls-like parking garage tutorial mission from the original Driver was particularly hateful. Not only was it required to even get to the open world, but it demanded precision far beyond what you would need to play and enjoy the game. I remember thinking when I was failing it over and over, “do they even want me to play this game?”

As a 6 or 7 year old kid at the time of that game's release, who didn't fully understand how driving a real car worked at the time, playing that made me think all drivers had to go through some crazy extensive practice just to drive a car. Oh, what a young fool I was. Still, I love and HHHHAAATTTTEEEE that tutorial. I'm pretty sure I passed that part by pure luck and frustration. No skill got me out of that garage as far as I believe

Honorable mention for Demolition Man in Vice City. The RC Copter controls suck, you're being shot at by construction workers the entire time while being extremely fragile, and you have a time limit to top it all off. To this day it fills me with dread just thinking about it

My biggest pet peeve in video games is and always will be ... timed missions. They are pointless in my opinion. This is like jump scares in horror films. They are only added because the creators couldn't figure out a way to raise the stakes naturally through creativity.

The race in Mafia actually went through an update (even back then, when pushing updates was hard, because internet connection was expensive and slow - I think it was distributed in game magazines). The update for the original game added a difficulty setting for the race, but also patched a glitch that allowed basically skipping the whole race. Needless to say, the race was pretty hard and tedious even on easy after the update. Dan Vávra (director) actually said that no one had any problem with the race in the game studio, they all played it so much during testing that they thought it was not at all hard.

what i especially hated about the AC tailing missions was that they were eavesdropping missions at the same time. so you have to keep close to them to eavesdrop but not too close to get detected, but also not get too far away or else the entire mission fails and you start from the beginning. add that ontop of the janky parkour the earlier games had and its just hell.

Thing that annoyed me was the mission where if you want 100% you have to tackle a guy from running up a turned over cart and jumping onto him after eavesdropping or something like that. And it won't give you a 100% if you don't. But it's nearly impossible to do this move of tackling him from above with the parkour mechanics. Repent and follow Jesus my friend! Repenting doesn't mean confessing your sins to others, but to stop doing them altogether. Belief in Messiah alone is not enough to get you into heaven - Matthew 7:21-23, John 3:3, John 3:36 (ESV is the best translation for John 3:36). Contemplate how the Roman empire fulfilled the role of the beast from the sea in Revelation 13. Revelation 17 confirms that it is in fact Rome. From this we can conclude that A) Jesus is the Son of God and can predict the future or make it happen, B) The world leaders/nations/governments etc have been conspiring together for the last 3000+ years to accomplish the religion of the Israelites C) History as we know it is fake. You don't really need to speculate though because you can start a relationship with God and have proof. Call on the name of Jesus and pray for Him to intervene in your life. - Revelation 3:20 Revelation has been unfolding since Jesus died. The Popes have claimed to be equal to God and set themselves in Jesus' place (antichrist(s)). Vatican City (Which is its own nation BTW) have risen up to fulfill the role of the false prophet Regarding the man of lawlessness or antichrist, 2 Thessalonians 2:4 says “Who opposes and exalts himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sits in the temple of God, showing himself that he is God.” The restrainer that the Apostle Paul was referring to in 2 Thessalonians was the Western Roman Emperor, who held back the Popes from taking power. Once the last Western Roman Emperor was removed from power in 476 AD, the Pope was given civil and ecclesiastic authority over Rome; healing the deadly head wound of the beast in Revelation 13, as they took the Emperors title of Pontifex Maximus, leader of the church and state. “We may according to the fullness of our power, dispose of the law and dispense above the law. Those whom the Pope of Rome doth separate, it is not a man that separates them but God. For the Pope holdeth place on earth, not simply of a man but of the true God.” (Source: “Decretals of Gregory IX,” Book 1, chapter 3.) Pope Pius V blasphemed, “The Pope and God are the same, so he has all power in Heaven and earth.” (Source: Pope Pius V, quoted in Barclay, Cities Petrus Bertanous Chapter XXVII: 218.) Pope Leo XIII declared, “We hold upon this earth the place of God Almighty.” (Source: Pope Leo XIII Encyclical Letter, June 20, 1894) The antichrist sea beast of Revelation points to the office of the papacy, the Popes of Rome, who controlled the Roman beast for 1,260 years, from 538-1798 AD. Daniel 7:25 says “And he shall speak great words against the most High, and shall wear out the saints of the most High, and think to change times and laws: and they shall be given into his hand until a time and times and the dividing of time.” The Popes of Rome spoke against Elohim and proclaimed to be God. They reigned for 1,260 years, from 538-1798 AD. during which they caused tens of millions of saints to be killed. The Pope’s title is Vicar of Christ, which in Latin is ‘Vicarius Filii Dei’, and equates numerically to the number 666

The Skyrim quest "Blood on the Ice" in Windhelm would be a good candidate for a list like this - not because it's bad, but because of how buggy it is. There are so many ways for this quest to get stuck in an incompletable state, and you can accidentally trigger some of these bugs long before attempting do the quest and realizing it's bugged (which potentially makes reloading a previous save not an option). To make matters worse, one of the bigger/nicer player houses in the game is tied to this quest, meaning if it glitches out, you might never be able to get that house. On PC, most of these issues can be prevented with the unofficial patch or resolved with console commands, but console players pretty much need to look this one up on a wiki and carefully follow a guide in order to avoid messing things up. The quest itself is decently fun/interesting, but trying to avoid all the bugs makes it feel a lot more tedious than it needs to be even if you manage to do everything right.

Hangar 13 has no idea how to make a Mafia game. they really make so many terrible decisions in development. Between this race that should've never been remastered at all, the hour long Mafia 2 prison sequence and how it won't save the game until you complete your mission so car customization is pointless. The Mafia 3 where you're a glorified errand boy being called the N word by everyone, at least Lincoln Clay punches those guys in the face. Maybe one day Hangar 13 will learn how to make an actual Mobster game. They've been in the shadow of the Godfather games since they came around.

Honorable mention for No Stone Unturned from Skyrim. The premise is that there are 24 gems somewhere in Skyrim. Good luck finding all of them. Their locations include houses of rich people, several seemingly random caves and Nordic ruins, and places unlocked by quests. This means you have to start the questlines for the College of Winterhold, the Thieves Guild, and the Dark Brotherhood (it's in the DB sanctuary, a location that might crash your game afer a certain quest), and also do two quests in Solitude and buy the most expensive player home in the game. As a side note, one gem used to be in an area which was accessible only once in the entire game on the older patch, meaning you'd not be able to complete the quest if you didn't pick it up. And to top it all off, the game may just not let you progress the quest even after completing all the gems. After gathering all the gems, you have to go to another dungeon and pick up the Crown of Barenziah. Don't try to get it before you're told to do so, as the crown won't spawn. At this point, you've played for many hours, and your character is tough, rich, and experienced adventurer. So what is the reward Bethesda decided is worth all of this effort? You find gems more often, a reward which is near useless at this stage of the game.

GTA3 - Espresso to Go - Are the stalls present in the game normally, or do they only appear once you activate this mission? If the latter, are they randomly placed, or do they appear in the same spots every time? I haven't played too many open world games, so my experience is limited, but I'll nominate; GTA:LCS - Bumps and Grinds - An optional challenge where you have to race a dirt bike around a series of dirt track courses, doing three laps around each one in under a set time. Sounds easy and it should be, but this literally took me hours to finish and was rage inducing. The main problem being the camera which lags behind your turns. So you may have to make a sharp left turn, but now you're looking at your bike from the side and can't see if you're lined up properly for the next bit. You can press the L button to re-orient the camera, but try to do that while working the gas, the handbrake, and the steering, but without losing control. And to top it off, If you screw up and realize that you're not going to be able to beat it, there's no option to quit or restart, you just have to let the timer run out, so you can restart that course. If I hadn't been playing it on an emulator where I was able to use save states to instantly restart the course, there is no way in hell that I would have ever had the patience to complete all the courses.

The Days gone section has to be a joke right? 😂 Those missions are EXTREMELY easy and short. Personally I found them to be a fun alternative to the other tasks. Also, you dont want to shoot the guys because the entire point of thw missions is to gather information and meet your contact, both of which you couldn't do if you got caught or shoot them.

IMO the race mission is not as hard as most people put it if you use a controller instead of a keyboard, and you have some "common sense" when it comes to driving. Yeah, the car has bad handling and the AI cheats on the last lap with a scripted sequence if you're not already in first place by then, but if you just release the gas and accelerate softly when exiting corners, the car handles good enough to not spin like it's shown in the video.

Espresso 2 Go is actually quite easy. So the timer doesnt start until you destroy one. You CAN go around and find them all so they'll be on the mini map and then start destroying them. It's the least frustrating way to do that mission and you'll have plenty of time to spare. Otherwise, I think the forced stealth/tailing missions should've been higher.

I kept drifting the damn car at the beginning of the race and getting far behind. That's when I said "Screw it, I'm lowering the difficulty!!"

My most recent frustrating experience was perfectly completing the Saint Guthlac bear trial in Assassin's Creed Valhalla. Also, another really frustrating challenge from AC3 is the final story mission. For me to perfect that one, I was sent on a spiraling outrage, then I took a break for awhile and beat it within a few tries. This was like 8 or 9 years ago, so I'm not at all excited to when I get around to playing AC3 remastered on my PS5.

Belief in messiah alone is not enough to grant you salvation - Matthew 7:21-23, John 3:3, John 3:36 (ESV is the best translation for John 3:36) if you believed in Messiah you would be following His commands as best as you could.
