Corbin's heel work was hardly any different than what you see from authority figures in the attitude era. It's just that Corbin was a victim of the PG era where the audience want the good guys to win all the time so when Corbin and company started destroying top faces it was too much for the PG audience. The PG audience is too impatient to appreciate drama building, suspense, and tension I guess. Because if this wasn't the PG era then people would love his heel work.

I sure do remember Batista when he debuted as Reverend D-Von’s bodyguard. I remember thinking that he wasn’t gonna last very long. Boy, was I wrong.

If you go through wrestling' history over the last 40 years, enough performers either started out with extremely bad gimmicks or were nearly given one? Hulk Hogan as a heel came out in a weird multi-coloured cape and his early years were a far cry from the Hulkamania persona he later adopted. while Vince McMahon originally wanted Bret Hart to wrestle for the WWF in 1984 as a cowboy because he was from Calgary in Canada?! Plenty of WWF wrestling gimmicks or near ones, didn't last too long, but the stars still went on to become industry giants though!

Eddie Guerrero should be on the list. Everyone loved Eddie and got the biggest pop at No Way Out beating Lesnar for the WWE Title and then when he turned on Rey and had that feud over Dominik it really had the crowd turn on Eddie for a little bit

Sami Zayn.. once a huge underdog that we all loved, slowly changed when he allied with his former friend/ enemy Kevin Owens in an attempt to call out the Smackdown live commissioner Shane Mcmahon on this "personal vendetta " on them. We had to love him, before we could hate him 💯

I was 10 when Hogan went heel. I was in tears wailing like a baby heart broken. Sting instamtly became my #1 favorite in WCW and still not fond of Hogan lol.

Owen and brets fued was amazing. They were both talented and the reason it was such a crowd pleaser was because it was so relatable. I mean, who else has an older brother that obviously thinks they're better than you but doesn't admit it and let's you believe it that you're actually better than them and that you actually have a chance to beat them at the wrestling thing that you both are actually amazing at but everytime you do score a goal the crowd cheers your brother because he is more known than you even though you're the one that works even harder than he does and then your mom and dad don't see how blind they are and it rages you to the point where you put super glue in your brothers skates and crack the bottom of his hockey stick so that it snaps when he takes a shot.... I think I went off topic a little bit. But yeah, brothers. Relatable! :)

I can't hate daniel bryan. he is like the reverse miz. everything he says makes sense (his pro-environment promos etc) and the entire time it feels to me like deep down he is just working vince and the authorities to keep the title. he is a good guy manipulating the bad guys by acting like a bad guy himself. his entire act is brilliant. and I hope he doesn't lose the title at mania

Hogan turning made the next day at school crazy. There were so many wrestling fans and we couldn't stop discussing what happened, why it happened, and what will happen next. I know it is scripted drama, but it was an exciting day as a kid :)

I’m glad Kofi got a run, but I’m kind of pissed that we didn’t get to see more of heel Daniel Bryan. He had just gotten his “earth friendly“ title and I was really interested in seeing where this was going to go. It sucks we don’t get to find out. Maybe in a shoot promo down the road 🤷🏼‍♂️

John Cena was they guy the crowd picked over Batista in the rumble 05... exactly the same with Roman... and Batista a decade later... So the company backed the audiences choice when we all said "Oh no we just would prefer it not to be Batista... we don't actually want John/Roman. Hope you didn't go through any trouble with your storylines for the next 5 years" Oops

Crowd was 50/50 during the rumble 05 the crowd turned on Cena by summer time that year Batista was still getting cheered through out the year Batista's injury was a blessing in disguise I'm sure the crowd would of turned on him by mania 22

I’m sorry, but the crowd did not pick Cena over Batista in 05. Batista was never as over as he was during that time. His turn on Triple H was a massive ratings draw. Cena was by no means unpopular at the time (that would come later), but Batista was clearly the bigger star for a short time. Also, fans didn’t choose Reigns over Batista either. The fans had chosen Daniel Bryan, but he wasn’t in the Rumble. The fans cheered Reigns over Batista because The Shield was still very popular at the time, and they were unhappy about Bryan being overlooked.

Idk if it's because I'm Canadian, or just because they're so great, but I could never boo Owen or Bret. 10) Before my time, no opinion. 9) Too good to boo. 8) Too good to boo. 7) Never cared about him enough to get invested. 6) Was never an actual heel. Stated out great, got better, stopped caring. 5) Meh. 4) Started out overrated, got good when we came back for the 763rd time. 3) Again, too good to hate, plus his gimmick is right... 2) Before my time, no opinion. 1) Similar to 6. Was never a true heel, when he was in WCW he was more over than ever.

@@erenaygun9696 Kofi is an amazing in ring talent. His mic skills are questionable at best. He looks like a bird chested teenager and this story wouldn't work without a strong heel antagonist. The fans never thought of Kofi as championship material until after Daniel Bryan turned heel and jobbed for Kofi.

How about The Rock? Everyone loved him from 1999-2002....then as Summerslam 2002 he was booed mercilessly against Lesnar because he was leaving for Hollywood again. Then he came back in February 2003 as the Hilarious Heel Of Hollywood Celebrity Rock.

Can anyone tell me, as a fan who only got into wrestling when bret hart was already out WHY everyone loves him so much? Like yeah okay a good wrestler and all... but I never see him smile. I googled him "smile" and only two pictures look like he actually doesnt want the world to burn. Everywhere else he looks completely unsympathetic. I've seen Mark (Undertaker) smile more and more believable than him... Its weird to see how big of a phenomenon he is when he looks so much like hes completely desinterested.

Was at Bragging Rights, had to piss. Ran to restroom as soon as triple threat ended. Stopped at black exit curtin as Batista turned on Rey. Trucked it to urinal as soon as he got carted out. Good times. Made it back to watch Randy Orton almost kill John Cena 😄😄😄😄😄

Daniel Bryan is lovable as an unber-babyface or a mega-heel. I really like the work he's doing now and he's one of the few truly bright spots left in the bloated meat sack known as the WWE.
