I always compared Ziggler to Billy Gunn. A younger Billy Gunn. Hair style, type of ring attire, moves (mainly the fame-asser), ego and over all character. Here's another one that should've made the list I think: Alex Reilly. Near the end of his run with WWE & after he broke away from The Miz, Reilly started to get comparisons to Cena and rumor has it that it annoyed Cena so much that he used his backstage power to effectively destroy Reilly's WWE career. During his feud with Cena, Roman Reigns even brought up this incident during a promo on Raw when he told the crowd that he would not have had a career in WWE if he looked just like Cena & if they didn't believe him than all they had to do was to just ask Alex Reilly about it.
@EphPhaThaINC
@EphPhaThaINC 3 жыл бұрын
And the best Dolph Ziglar comparison came when he was just starting his feud with Chris Jericho (who is like my all time favorite wrestler ever) and right after their first Raw mic working together, I saw a meme that was created that showed Jericho reading from his "Man of 1001 moves" list from WCW and then the next picture was of Dolph and the caption "Man who can SELL a 1001 moves", and I was like "man I can't get mad or argue with that, that was really funny....and genius".

I can definitely see the comparisons of Ziggler to mr perfect and flair. They should have never stuck him with that name, it always sounds like a joke and I think it’s hurt his career. Doesn’t help that WWE doesn’t allow wrestlers to maintain their status within the company, apparently everyone is a maineventer depending on the day of the week. Another problem with Wwe is that they don’t give wrestlers enough leeway to establish a good gimmick.

I think the Kevin Thorn gimmick had a lot of potential. I was really curious about the chemistry between Kevin and Taker if they allowed it to happen.

That was actually the original plan when Kevin was going by Mordecai, a religious zealot who wore all white was supposed to fued with Taker.

1. I don't know about Simon, but Johnny Sins attracts cougars. 2. Kevin Thorn was not a vampire, but did he feel like one? Shout out to Ronnie Radke.

As Mordecai he was a homage of the Undertaker. As Kevin Thorn he was another version of Gangrel.

Paul Wight (aka The Giant in WCW and Big Show in WWE) and Andre the Giant is an obvious one. WCW used Wight's resemblance to Andre to push him as Andre's son, and Vince saw him as the next Andre.

Do you think that Luger being the next Hulk Hogan COULD have worked if they gradually turned him into a babyface over time, instead of instantly, like they did?

No, you were right the first time, WhatCulture have miscalculated here. Luger's 'Narcissist' gimmick debuted in 1993, Masters' 'Masterpiece' one in 2005. It's 12 years later.
