Ronda used the Rowdy nickname. WWE put on the logo. Piper's gimmick went far beyond just the nickname and look. It was for his attitude & his ability to talk So to say that the "Rowdy" Roddy Piper gimmick was handed down is a HUGE stretch.

Fairly Recently Randy Colley passed away . He was the original Smash of Demolition before Barry Darso took over the role. Randy even tried to run on the Independent scene as Detroit Demolition with little success but he was the Original Smash.

You are wrong about fake Razor & Diesel. It was not a direct attempt to replace the wrestlers. Their initial intention was to be JR's muscle in some kind of takeover attempt. The act was that he was trying to disrespect Vince and make him look like a fool. The fact that this was scrapped after 2 weeks makes a lot of people forget.

Tiger mask is actually a character from an old manga from the 70s. Because Japan is a lot more free with copyrights this popular comic character was made into a real wrestler as was his rival. Considering the fact that in many other types of entertainment such as sumo and theater names get passed down from generation to generation it’s not all that surprising that the legacy of Tiger mask is so long. Also the W is read as double as noted in the anime Tiger mask W.
