Lashley has gotten a lot better in the past year. I think fully scripted promos don't work for all people. Allowing room for a wrestler to really getting into a character i think is key.

The RVD one is questionable. It’s WWE’s fault on that one. If they would have let him speak freely, his promos would have been great.

I dont think Rey is bad on the mic he just lets his in ring ability do the talking. Hard to sound intimidating when you’re only 5’6 and always an underdog. When feuds get personal he’s good at talking.

Brock can deliver on the mic, if you need proof just watch his post fight interview after he beat Frank Mir. He pissed a lot of people off, which goes to show he can be effective on the mic when he is uninhibited by scripts.

I love how this video is not about degrading or underestimating wrestlers because they can't cut a promo, but about how even megastars can struggle with it, and how it's still possible to reach the top despite that. Yeah, promos are pretty important in the business, but there are many people who have become really obssessed with promo ability, they want every wrestler to be able to recite 5+ minute monologues without the minimum flaw, even when some gimmicks don't require it. I mean, yeah, they're TV stars, but they're wrestlers before actors/actresses or anything else. Lesnar, Lashley, Strowman, Goldberg, Sid... they're massive, they don't need to say anything more than a few words now and then because their main attributes are size and strength, and his job is to decimate people; I don't even wanna hear them, I wanna watch them destroy their opponents. Hart, Mysterio, Hardy, Morrison, Malenko... they're brilliant, there was magic in every move those guys delivered on the mat, and that's all I needed from them to be blown away; 10 minute speeches are not needed when you're a guy like them, just say "thank you people, I love you" if you're the good guy, and "you people are dumb, I hate you all" if you're the bad guy, and that's it. From each according to their ability, to each according to their needs.

“Jeff couldn’t cut a promo for whatever reason” I got a reason. The man’s brain is fried from whatever drug he decides to fill his body with. And I don’t think Brock is TOO bad, I think one of the main things is that his voice isn’t one that you’d expect to come out of a man his size and stature. His many voice cracks come to mind. But his one-line comebacks always make an impact and serve their purpose. He’s never really going to be one to give a 10 minute speech, but it works for his character.

I think Lita’s promo work nowadays is much better than it was compared to 2000-2004. She started improving in 2006. The feud/promo work with Becky last year was really good.

The Great One is better at cutting a Rey Mysterio promo than Rey Mysterio is himself.

I never thought Sid was a bad promo. His intensity was off the charts, and made up for the times he stumbled over his words. His promos during his Sycho Sid run were exactly what they needed to be for his character; unhinged. And he was the only wrestler who stayed on script and didnt lose composure during the Shockmaster incident.

Bret Hart could cut a promo as a heel, even if he was no Shawn Michaels. Rey Mysterio is on the thumbnail but he has shown that he can cut a decent promo if given good material, as seen in the feud with his son. And even Brock Lesnar has improved over the years. He doesn't use Paul Heyman as a spokesman any more. Psycho Sid--well, what can I say? Dead on with that one.

Lita kinda was awkward when it comes to promos during her early years. But I think she had decent ones especially when she bacame a heel

You got a very rare talent/ ability too make these style videos and while still being respectful too all the athletes you have mentioned in this vid and many of your others, its a real skill and it’s a fine line of making these while still being respectful and still making a point without just being somewhat rude and disrespectful in general , definitely a new fan for your page 👍🤘👏🙌

Lesnar is good at promos now. I attributed Brock’s poor promos back then to scripting. Since Lesnar has done what he needed and can more than live off his earnings, he can cut unscripted promos without worry, thus making them better.

Though Lesnar has improved drastically at his promo work..but what I mean is they are both awesome at what they do and dont need to cut good promos their presence alone is enough to elicit a good reaction from the crowd because when you look at them you know they are legit

To be fair, one of my favorite promos of the 2010s era was the Edge vs Jeff Hardy promos, specially in Judgment Day and Extreme Rules

I think this is the first wrestlelamia video i gotta disagree with. The fact Rhonda Rousey isnt on it is questionable. Also as a kid Rey Mysterio sold his pitch to me. I feel that he always spoke like the underdog and wasnt the loudest or most dangerous voice. But thats what his whole style was about. He was the underdog. However i still dig this channel, keep up the great work.

Cutting a good promo is more important than being a good wrestler in WWE

For some of these guys I think it’s less a matter of not being able to talk on the mic and more so their characters not really permitting it. Rey Mysterio for example is a more passive character and that comes off in his promos. The same can be said about Jeff Hardy barring a few kayfabe impulsive moments.

I got one for ya Gangrel, dude had a cool look and could wrestle but cut the worst promos. Also what’s funny about Brick being number 1 is all I could think of is “Party’s over grandpa” which in my book goes down as one of the best promos ever. It even looked like he got some real heat from Hogan.
