For me Scott Hall should have been the number 1 spot, he always put talent over even as early as 1,2,3 kid (later X-Pac) and even though sometimes he was probably in trouble for putting the talent over he loved it, making younger lesser known stars big deals. The Rock was always pretty sefless when it came to the victories of some of the wrestlers he worked with. Foley, Jericho, Kurt Angle & Brock Lesnar's first WWE title victories came from beating The Rock. As soon as he was established as a main event guy in the late 90's he could take a loss & it wouldn't affect his star power.

I've never heard someone say Lesnar ending the streak was the smartest possible. Taker didn't think he should, because Lesnar was already over, he didn't need the push and Lesnar for the most part agreed with him, but Vince wanted it and Taker was a loyal company man to the end. Ultimately he wished he could have dropped the streak to Reigns instead as that was who he wanted to help get over, he wanted the streak to either be used to push someone career to the next level, or remain unbroken to leave a bigger legacy, he got neither.

However im glad it was lesnar over reigns. Reigns is also already made with his bloodline storyline. Overall i do think it helped Lesnar get this very godlike booking that was unique. He was not only a former UFC champion but also ended the undertaker at mania. It made this aura around him that paid off at summerslam 2014 when he absolutely murdered Cena.

Bret was also responsible for Stone Cold Steve Austin getting the push he did. Bret pushed for him backstage. Also the Undertaker was responsible for the Rocks first WWE World title run. WWE wanted to put the title on the Rock. But Shawn Micheals and HHH found out they felt he shouldn't get a title run and used their power backstage to get Vince not to do it. Undertaker felt the Rock was good enough to get a title run went to Vince and convinced Vince to ignore DX. That one comes from the Rock himself

The thing I've always respected about Vince is every time he puts someone over, he pretty much orders them to hit him as hard as they can. Randys punt kick, KOs headbutt, he told them both to hit him properly to make it as believable as possible. If that isn't going the extra mile, at his age, then I don't know what is.

Say what you will about him, but the man is incredibly committed to his business and has put himself through hell for the sake of the fans. That match was a genuine disgrace. I have no hatred towards Reigns as a person, but I mean…Brock didn’t even want to break the streak eventually. Taker asked him to because of how much he respected him, and as much as I hated to see the streak end, I can really appreciate the story behind the decision. With Reigns…it was just to get him over while he was already being shoved down everyone’s throats. There was absolutely no reason for Undertaker to lose at WM again.

Austin also really put Benoit over in 2001 during their matches on RAW and Smackdown. Austin won because of a screw job type finish and then interference from Vince in the Smackdown match. But he definitely made him look strong in both matches. Austin has gone on record to say that Benoit told him thank you for putting me over after the Smackdown match.

I remember that whole bit with Edge and Foley. If I'm not mistaken, Edge had like a year-long feud with Cena, RVD, and I think Orton too?

i think the orton feud was in 2007 or was that the feud with cena? but yeah honestly he was a one of his time so people had to realise what a rare gem he was and he is def someone who withstood the test of time i mean his royal rumble return reaction prove itself after all we live in a new generation where young fans have no idea about big names like Vader, randy savage damn they don't even know ric flair

HHH always said that in the business you can make money or make friends. After hall and nash left and the infamous scene of him and the rest of them hugged each other after the steel cage match. He got repercussion from it. He had to do what was right for him, but in the end it worked out for him. Hell dude makes like 180k a year now. Overall he did what was best for him. He will always be one of my favorite wrestlers.

The closest he ever came, due to his antics with Warrior at WM VI being for solely selfish reasons, was either tapping out to Angle at KOTR 2002 (even though he got to the ropes first, trying to make it seem tainted, and jobbing to Brock by pass-out to a bearhug on SD in 2002 to build Brock for The Rock and the title at SummerSlam later that month. However, it emerged that he thought he was getting the job back and the title (for the second time that year) at Survivor Series in MSG three months later, after which he likely would have beaten Angle to retain it shortly afterwards...

I'm always torn with the Undertaker streak ending like it did. I get it needs to end and what a great push it would be to a younger talent, what I'm torn about is dropping it to Brock, don't get me wrong he is a great talent, my issue is even at that time he was a on again off again "Sports Entertainer" ideally you want it to go to a talent that is more dedicated to the company, that being said at that time I don't know any talent that was better suited to drop the streak too and with Takers age and decline in performance it was not something to be pushed off. There are so many great wrestlers who know the business and despite being at the top they understand needing their fame to be smudged a bit to give a huge push to a newer / younger talent.
