Respectfully, some of these are bad takes. If a 400 pound man picked me up and slammed me into the mat while also pretty much dropping his weight onto me I’d be in pain. It is pretty realistic not only for Mark but generally speaking. Swaggers was unique in a way, but it still looked like a finisher like almost every other powerbomb

The perception that some of these moves are terrible is more about how many moves have simply lost value as finishers due to overuse and not being used as finishers by other wrestlers, e.g. leg drop, DDT, power slam. By the standards of this list you could add sweet chin music because after all its 'just a superkick' and most matches have multiple superkicks now but it never finishes.

Jinder's Khallas is a fine move. It's a cobra clutch into a half nelson slam. I don't know how that would be difficult to figure out how to take since it's just a basic back bump.

I never counted the splash as Warrior’s finisher, it was always the Gorilla Press drop Hogan’s leg drop is iconic, and stands the test of time Missing is Big Show’s KO punch, Del Rio’s arm bar, and Vince’s stunner

Most of these are completely fine especially compared to some of the finishers we have nowadays (A Town Down, Garganos springboard DDT malarkey, Kofi, Owens’ version of the stunner etc)

I mean jack swaggers and mark Henry finishing move for them wasn’t that bad compared to the finishing moves their doing now

Never bought into Strowmans finisher because I used to watch Batista nail that all the time even on the undertaker thru the table at WM23, but it's getting harder to come up with finishers nowadays at least something different we haven't seen before impactful enough to be finishing move, still waiting for the Blue Thunderbomb to end a match as a finisher

I'd argue that "terrible" is the wrong word to describe Hogan's finisher. Millions of people around the world paid a LOT of money over decades to see Hogan finish off villains with this move. Calling it terrible by 2022 standards is generational bias. Hogan BUILT the wrestling audience as we have it today and you kids should pay him more respect for his decades of work.

I started watching wrestling (WWF) partially in 98 when I was 8. Rarely watched WCW. I knew of Hollywood Hogan, Sting, Goldberg, Macho man Randy Savage, Rey Mysterio Jr and Bret Hart. I just knew the images of these characters as being WCW wrestlers. Didn’t know they’re finishing moves entrances or nothing. Bout time 01 came around, I was watching WWF full time. As an 11 year old. I didn’t know WCW ran out of business. I thought the storyline of the invasion was what really happened but was confused why I didn’t see any stars in WCW during the storyline. Couldn’t understand why Austin was WCW leader and more than half of WWF superstars were with WCW as well. But anyway, after the invasion storyline, more WCW stars would creep their way over. One trio was the NWO. Knew of them but never seen them before. Saw their entrance for the first time, pretty cool. And when they attacked, all 3 did their finisher. Hall did his razor edge. Nash did his jackknife power bomb. Hogan would hit a quick leg drop before he got ready to do his finisher. But once they announced the hulkamania leg drop as his finisher I was in fucking shock. I had no clue who hulkamania, Macho King and Bret the hitman Hart was in the 80’s and 90’s. Learning that hogan was the Austin of the 80’s with a leg drop as an iconic finisher was crazy to me. I knew of Hollywood hogan without knowing anything else of WCW but I guess that was because of his popularity as who he was before

Honorable mention: Andre the Giant in 1988. That butterfly suplex he used on Hulk Hogan was kind of sloppy. To be fair though, Andre was in declining health.

I'll tell you this, I worked for Jerry Lawler and I remember him body slamming me. A simple slam and I was hurt for a week. It looks like a normal move but if you're not trained to fall properly, it becomes dangerous. Mark Henry is a big guy. If he slams on you and you're not trained to handle a big body slamming on you, dangerously deadly

It was never about the move, it’s about who’s doing it. It’s just like boxing. Everyone throws the same types of punches but certain boxers perfect/are best at certain blows to finish them off. Thats what made them believable to me. Also, Other wrestlers overusing those same moves after, are what makes them look weak to look at them now. That’s why they worked before. When most of those superstars were at their prime, no other wrestlers were using the same moves.

Hogan's leg drop is terrible, but gotta give him credit for keeping it protected. He's said in the past that he wishes he'd have used a sleeper, and while finishers that cause unconsciousness are better for heels since faces can fire back up, I see his logic on it. I'd like to see a big guy like Braun with a vicious rag-dolling bear hug.

Depends on who was doing the move in question. If anyone but the Rock had done that elbow drop not only would the move be laughed at but so would the wrestler who did it.
