That may be true, but this is very strongly resembling the USA. The Bugs are invaded because of Oil, which (as happened in real life) is extracted even during ongoing wartimes, the Illuminate were attacked preemtively because they had weapons of mass destruction (or rather, were said to have them; Still unknown where they hid the damn things). Alone the trailer cinematic that is shown at every start of the video I've seen very sound analysis pointing out dozens of similarities to somewhat recent war enlistment ads from the USA. In the end the helldivers Super Earth is an exaggerated fashist Regime (also very influenced by Orwells 1984, for example) and not just intended as a representation of one nation, but it's parallels to the US seem to be the most obvious...

@@magnusamann6806The oil thing is more of a meme than reality. The US, unironically, were legitimately liberating Kuwait because they had been invaded by Iraq for, no joke, oil. The US wasn't even getting any of the oil either. WMDs were also found in Iraq in the form of illegal chemical weapons that they had previously used on their own civilians, and research into nuclear weapons. US being a warmongering state that will invade innocent countries at the hint of cooking oil is nothing but a meme, and holds less water than the "French are cowards" stereotype.

Nux the T-Posing is a hug gesture that can be unlocked in game, but you just keep your arms out until you cancel it or another player joins in the hug, so people use it for gesturing at things.

As a fun fact I was playing with a friend who joined HD2 (hell divers 2) like 3 weeks ago and I told him: "This planet reminds me of Tien Quan, now that i think about, you havent been to that planent have you?" at what he responded with a: "man you sound like a war veteran" soo yeah..... that mision we totaly werent killed by 7 hulks and 2 tanks guarding a bot outpost

4:53 While the in-universe propaganda tells the citizens that the Hell Divers are Elite Soldiers, the military uses the Helldivers as highly expendable soldiers that can accurately mark and call in the ordinances from the Ships in space that actually gets the job done. AKA the Helldivers exist so that the Ships in space don't have to get danger close to perform precision orbital strikes, bombing runs, or precision placement of automated sentries. So the Helldivers die so that the pilots don't have to.

I recalled in the lore Hell Diver used to be elite heavily trained soldiers, but due to how lethal the war was they just end up losing them faster then they trained that they end up replace them with quickly train troop.

the lore from HD1 is Bugs were peaceful and was going to make peace with super earth but then super earth learned bugs make good fuel so war the cyborgs and automatons formed a union because super earth didnt have work safety of cause super earth didnt like that so war and the third faction is apparently a multi-galaxy empire that wanted to help super earth but then super earth wanted their tech so they went to war against them too

In the game, the default settings for voice and body type are set to Random because you don't get respawned, you get reinforced (replaced) - which is a really good detail imo

You need to consider the bugs were not even hostile to the humans in the beginning. It started to escalate once the humans discovered they could capture and farm the bugs for oil for their spaceships.

Maxor never told a lie about to lore but something that wasnt mentioned was that Super Earth MADE the bugs for a fuel source that we farm from their bodies and lost control of.. The 7 and up thing is real lore and its actually amazing, you just have to watch the infomercials in the ship and tutorial to find gems of info like that.
