Today I'm sharing my finished 100 Day Project where I create with a variety of random things. Within 90 days, I created 100 art pieces full of charm, a unique color palette and a beautiful flow in design and composition. My use of random things I have curated and collected over the years make the story continuous throughout the concertina sketchbook I'm using. The pure delight and joy of creating this way had me inspired every single day for 5-10 minutes of painting on this 100 day challenge.

Just found your channel today while searching sketchbook ideas! I like your style and the 100 day project turned out so sweet, just love all the small images, especially the little snail.🐌 I live with my daughter’s family (I’m 74) and I craft daily which means my 2 granddaughters (5 & 8) are right there with me. We’re learning watercolors together and we each have our own watercolor sketchbook. I think we’ll try a “100 Days of Summer” project based on yours. The thing I really like about yours is that the daily image doesn’t have to cover the whole page…sometimes I feel a bit intimidated by a whole blank page. I can’t wait to go back and watch all your other videos…what a treat for this old Grammy.❤

I love that you get to paint with your grand daughters every day, what fantastic memories you are creating! I think the 100 days of Summer would be fantastic, especially if you all take turns picking something to paint. Thank you, it has been a visual storytelling journey since my first concertina sketchbook and I think I'm very addicted to creating the flow and design now. It is going to be a challenge doing art in a regular sketchbook now, wish me luck LOL

Yeah! Shop your studio and gather items. Pick a color palette, choose paper and you are on your way. Enjoy every step of the process along the way!

Again, your sketchbook is lovely and i'd livre to flip trough the pages, travelling from one to another of your motifs. The colours are amazing and the flow is oniric. You inspired me to begin drawing and painting my little treasures too, and I already feeling the joy and smiling everything I look at it. The more I struggle to draw (not my forte) or to find how to materialise my motif, more pleasure I get when I succeed. Thank you ❤

They are really simple to make just don't use too heavy of paper because the folds will start cracking. Glad you are inspired, thank you Tania!

Stunning. So charming and engaging. I started watching your channel with the New 2024 palette. I just started and have spent a tidy sum already but when I saw the swatch chart I wanted to start over….. I priced all 18 and it would be another $200….not happening at this time. So I guess the next step is to figure out how lavender and Titanium Buff and maybe one other color might help get my primary mixing palettes (I have three right now) to the softer more muted shades you have in your 2024 studio palette. I do love mixing and swatching and I agree it is the best way to learn and not a waste of time or resources. Can’t wait to explore more of your videos…. Lavender and buff titanium are great muting colors and you can purchase the VanGogh brand, they are a great value. You could also mix complementary colors (across from each other on the color wheel) and mute your palette quite nicely. Add a bit of the buff titanium into any color and you will get a lovely soft tone. Use what you have and just see what magic you can create!

I walk with my head down these days so I don't miss that special leaf, rock, feather or acorn. My husband thinks I've turned into a bowerbird (you should look at the book 'Bowerbird Blues' by Aura Parks for inspiration)

@@kellyhoernig Thank you Kelly. I forgot to say that it is a picture story book with a lovely message for children to discover. It was part of our National Simultaneous Story time last week (every primary school, kindergarten, child-care centre etc) read the same book on the same day and at the same time. We had a wonderful discussion after reading the book and it's amazing how wise 7 year old children can be when inspired

You have a very soft aesthetic that is lovely. I'd like to know how you deal with overlapping elements from one day to the next. Do you 'lift up colour' from the previous days work to accommodate a new days work, or do you place the new item behind the previous days item?

I usually draw several days out so if something is overlapping it is already there for me to look at and go around. If there is an area that I went back and added something, I do put water on the area and blot with a paper towel to lift the color. I then let it dry and do it again. This sketchbook has mixed media paper in it so you really can't scrub it that is why I do a couple of times for the lifting so I don't ruin the papers texture. Yes, the one I have on the thumbnail is my favorite because of the variety of colors and design plus that hippo is just the sweetest ever!
