I'd love to see what would happen if somebody like Artgerm or Hipp ended up doing something that got them removed. It's another reminder that we don't really own anything in this game, and it could be gone tomorrow. I'll remember this next time I'm asked for money.

As someone who bought this bundle almost entirely for the variants this genuinely convinced me to not buy another bundle. 1,200 gold for what is essentially a $50 variant ($100 for two variants) is a huge slap in the face and if they won’t more fairly compensate it will really leave a bad taste for all of SD for me

@@tylermchenry2963 They broke their own terms of service. Feelings really don't matter. Players mostly bought this bundle for the Gambit, and now it's gone. They are rightly annoyed, but none of that really matters. They actually broke their own terms of service when they did this, so 1200 gold isn't going to cut it. They should have offered players a full refund, and then just removed the cards from our accounts. The resources should just be written off, as it's their mistake. This will certainly cost them, as people are stubborn enough to let this dictate what they spend... a lot of them were likely looking for an excuse to stop, anyway. Most whales are addicts.

I bought the bundle and I’m not happy with the Wolverine rip off. I’ve bought big bundles, the throg, Dracula, destroyer and sentry bundle and I bought this one. It was a limited time and one time only so if you want them get them now and it was the coolest variant of Gambit in the game and now it’s a meme variant, compensation is 1200 gold for a variant that pops up randomly in the shop, no thanks. From now on I will just be getting the season pass, the bundles are subject to whatever they want to change or take back, lesson learned second dinner, thanks👍

Also season pass cards could be fixed, for example blink with leach 4 cost was a thing, with leach 5cost is another thing. So my suggestion is to not gift your money to second dinner.

I can’t express how frustrated I am by this change. I have spent hundreds on the game. This was the first big bundle I have purchased and I brought it for Gambit. I’m awaiting a reply from SD. I have requested a refund or the werewolf bundle as compensation. I’m really not happy. I play the game a lot and am now considering quitting. I normally buy the season pass straight away but I don’t think I can spend another dollar with them if they cannot provide adequate compensation. Arghhh, disgraceful and unethical conduct on SD’s part. The compensation suggested is insulting. Less than $30 AUD value for the purchase of a $150 AUD bundle. I’d be happy if they take it all back and provide me a full refund or at least give me that option.

Not affected here. What they should have done was issue buyers a voucher for any Ultimate variant of their choosing. Simple. That said, I haven't agreed with any of their business decisions for a long time now. So, I don't care.

The fact that refunds are in conversation for this situation means that gold compensation doesn’t reflect a healthy monetisation system, first couple months of global the player base would have been okay with it, but after a year of bad monetisation and compensation systems , players want their money back.. and not incentivised with in game currency.. once upon a time the game currency felt justified, now after terrible experiences throughout marvel snaps lifeline, physical currency is now valued more than what this game offers.. a turnaround president and a downhill that I don’t want to see in this game as it offers a small stimulus break from daily life like grandparents and suduko but if they can’t manage general player health.. we will see another company work for 3 years, build hype, cash out and bury their game with other failed tcgs

This is one of those reasons I sometimes wish products and authors were seen differently. Especially in this case, I feel like keep the variant in, but if they really want to for PR purposes, cut off future collaboration with the artist, would surely be a better solution. As much as I don't like racism, I don't think the artist's stance matters when enjoying their art.

The kicker was them saying they will bring the bundle back so people who had nothing invested into the original bundle have an opportunity for the new variant. So the people who did invest in the original bundle get 1200 gold and a non exclusive card once that bundle is released again. They also haven’t taken into consideration a lot of the resources were used to split Gambit multiple times like my self to get inked and used more gold to get a border.

I was a little disappointed to see they changed one of my Variants. I don't think 1200 Gold really counts as compensation. They should be offering the choice of a refund, take the cards out of our collections, and then right off the resources. This is their mistake, not ours. We paid for something that was changed, and it also breaks their own terms of service, as it was in less than a Month. TBH I'd have been happy with some more meaningful compensation in terms of resources (keys and credits) 1200 gold is nothing. We spent 100 on that Bundle.

I did have a theory that this months whale variant was the meme gambit, and they had to give it to people because of them taking the bundle variant away. not sure if this is even close to true, but I can't really wrap my head around why there's no variant this month. I mean they could be just testing stuff out, see if people will go for it. I know this much, there isn't a chance in hell I will complete it, even if I wanted to spend 400, there isn't enough stuff to buy.

3:27 summed it up PERFECTLY as someone who bought the bundle it was decided almost entirely on how badass and sick the variants looked, but replacing it with this goofy variant was a miss. I immediately swapped this one out for the Jamie Mckelvie variant instead since it's style/aesthetic is closer to what it was. 1200 gold doesnt replace the loss here, value is subjective to everyone and to me the 97 variant and 1200 gold is nowhere near the same.

I think it comes down to getting to the value of the card in this specific bundle. It’s kind of hard to do the math for art. At the very least though 1200 gets you a premium variant. This is a variant that due to being bundle exclusive is automatically worth more than that since it’s not up for purchase. I would argue this variant for its price point has the value of at least an ultimate variant. Should have been 4000 gold or 5000 tokens instead

they will put your gold into minus. they deduct gold for what they say the resources were worth, you don't get banned, but you'll have all your gold taken, and likely end up in the red, too.

Did you also see that they Bumped the Whale-Track up to 400 this month, and it doesn't even have a unique variant. These dudes are going way too far with the monetisation, now. We were hoping they'd improve things, to help bring things up to speed with how things have changed (all S5 releases, and they're almost always good. Means most players are missing so many meta relevant cards, they are at a distinct disadvantage) they needed to improve acquisition, not double the price of the whale tack.

If someone liked said variant then yeah it's upsetting it be removed, but rationally the variant was always 1,200Gold so getting that for it makes sense. When you calculate the variant cost in this bundle in your mind you aren't thinking they are 3000G or something your knowing they are 1,200G because that's how much they normally would be. Maybe there would be some minor argument to be made if the bundle was undervalued and the variant was the main selling point, but idk whenever you do the valuation these variants are 1,200G you won't see Colins or even yourself rating a bundles value trying to make an argument that the variants are worth more than that. Getting more back would be nice, but getting back the cost said item makes sense. Like if this happened to a Ultimate Variant I would imagine getting all those Tokens back for it. Or a spotlight get those keys back for it etc.

I think the issue here is the value varies person to person, like for me I was mainly buying this for the credits and gold so I’m not mad about the change on a personal level (even though I liked the art and am a bit sad to see it go). But I know quite a few people who value the exclusive variants much more than the currency (mostly whales who have a lot of currency already) and for them it def feels like they lost more than 1200 gold if they wouldn’t have normally purchased these currencies without the variant. IMO the smart move would have been trying to find a similar style of art (but obviously different artist) to offer as replacement rather than something totally different like what we got, while still offering a refund to those who want it (but subtracting the resources from their account). The whole thing would be a much smaller issue if SD wasn’t so focused on all variants being FOMO one time only to boost the sales but that’s been the trend since bundles began and I don’t see it changing.

@@ZombiesGoNomNom The value of the variant is always 1,200G whether or not what they think subjectively with their emotions. If I bought a phone it was a cool exclusive color for a limited time only offer so I bought it, then it turns out the company screwed up so they are sending everyone just a black phone but refunding the extra cost making it now cost the same as the black one. You can be upset but rationally they gave back what you paid. You can't just argue ah well but that color was worth X amount more to me so you have to give me that too. Because that logic is not logic and don't have a stopping point. Either your happy with the return of cost or get a full refund while losing what you paid for like in any other refund of a product. Expecting anything else is just emotional response than a rational point that if we used as a common practice would make no sense and be subjective irrational and unfair.

@@thek838you're not allowed to tell people they can't be emotional. Even if all of your points are right, the kind of people that spend this much on the game are gonna be pissed. Are they still gonna buy the next $100 bundle, knowing the variant could get swapped any moment? They may not, so even if you're technically justified in not further compensating your players, it's still going to hurt you in the long run if your big spenders start leaving

@@hiddenzombie013 I never said people aren't allowed to be emotional. Just they can't subjectivity get what they want back based upon their own values, simply not rational to use that as a system. If they feel this impacts further thoughts on whether to buy a new bundle that's totally up to them and is valid with whatever reasoning they come to. Though hopefully they do take into account mistakes do happen, and this wasn't done as a scam. They did give back the gold. They will learn from this and try not to make this mistake again surely. It also been a unique situation. You can get a refund if you really want though I am sure no one really is. Overall the outlook of events are forgivable, and people will probably move on but if anyone thinks it's not that's totally fine to feel that way.

Here’s the deal tho: I wouldn’t have bought this bundle if this new gambit was in the bundle. I didn’t care about the gold or credits. You also can’t compare a normal 1,200 gold variant to a $100 bundle exclusive variant. Just because the in game currency is equivalent doesn’t mean the art value or general exclusivity is equal. It’s not fair compensation period.
