I know you did this video a while ago, but I came across it when I first got interested in a 12v g56 swap. I recently bought a g56 and am doing a swap into a '98 12v with back doors! It was an automatic just like this and your swap series helped me a lot.

Even if it's still intact, you better tab it. I did mine in early august this year. Just bought the truck from a friend of mine and I'm glad I pulled the cover off and investigated cuz it was over half way out. So i tabbed it. Didn't have to drain anything. Just pulled the serpentine belt, crank pulley, fan and clutch and just worked around everything.

The main reason to cancel the clutch start safety switch is to not screw up your throw out bearing during cold weather starts. If you're pushing in the clutch and and the bearing happens to be really cold, the bearing can. So if you can start it without the clutch and allow the truck to warm up, the heat from the engine will warm everything up and help that bearing to last a little longer.
@VBELTandSON4 жыл бұрын
5point9 throwout bearing is always spinning. Hydraulics are pushing a little bit always. I’ve started my truck in -40 weather many many times throw out bearing was always fine. I’d rather leave the safety on there so something doesn’t get hurt. 🤘🏻
@andrzejconner6764 жыл бұрын
@@VBELTandSON I prefer bypassing them too but I keep them in for one reason only, when someone else uses the truck or even just hops in to move it. That's a disaster waiting to happen that is so fucking simple to avoid

Some of the later second gen 24 valve engines have a tapper on the front side of the timing cover to prevent the dowel from coming out. Some early 24 valves just need a straight flat tab like the 12 valves. At least that’s how my 98 24 valve is. Idk about my 99 24 valve.

@fasteddie42004 жыл бұрын
Hello guys how are you doing have got a question after watching few videos a lot of videos and talking to a lot of people online My situation is sad to say but yes I'm a Ford guy but I bought a FUMMINS ... Diesel conversion specialist swap in a 2010 F250 crew cab but the 12v had a spun bearing So I sent the motor to the machine shop and pretty much by every 12 hour of part I could find for about a year and a 1/2 couple different motor I'm also restoring a 78 Bronco. I had bought a parts Bronco that The owner bought it brand new and drove it in the winters and he decided to use gonna restore it or fix it up at 8 and he was nobody man that's for sure he tore the motor apart he was gonna rebuild the motor because it started smoke a little bit She handed out get getting too old where he couldn't get underneath it and move around very much But anyways it ended up being too good to tear apart and the parts I needed for my restore were not good enough shape I pulled it out behind the garage and kind of forgot about it for 6 months meanwhile still had been buying parts 12 valve parts Until one day almost exactly 1 year ago 12 valve motor had been in my way long enough so Sell a polled the Bronco back around and let it get acquainted with the 12 I started building motor mounts and started watching for a transmission 1st transmission that popped up was a G56 Still shifted through all the gears bow the case was cracked so I paid a 150 bucks for It got it welded and to my luck I had the right adapter play as far as I know it Bolted right together together Then I started watching for a used clutch set up I found aGuy that had bought a truck from a dealer to dealer had put a new clutching his truck he said he put 4000 miles on and upgraded so I paid a $100 for this set up not really knowing even if it would work but I put it all together somehow it seems like it's right I could be totally wrong cause of nurse started it yetSo then it was on to figure out the starters the starter I hadWas robbing on flex plate or fly will finally figured out that they make a spacer plate for the starter got that installed I am actually in the process of changing the front seal now and I should be able to start it the main question is I have no clue what transfer cases will bolt to the back of this Mercedes transmissionSome folks say and np 241 DHD some folks say NP 271 DHD Like I said I honestly do not have a clue which transfer case I never thought it would be this hard to find one or this hard to get the information but that's probably my fault for looking in the wrong places anyone could in lightened me I would greatly appreciate it
