I have previously shared care and propagation tips of specific terrestrial philodendron species (gloriosum, plowmanii, mcdowell). But in this video I share a different propagation technique that yields more results at less risks! As usual I show an update at the end of the video.

Yees, if you take off the leaf, sometimes you can see the "gem" or the inflorescence still small because it did not developed. I noticed that these nubs appear when the leaf starts to come out from a cataphyll, is a sign of maturity. LOVE your content Sean, love love 🖤🖤🖤

Last question HEHEHE do alocasia love sunlight or indirect sun light? And what is the best in your opinion should i plant my gloriousum in pot or in the ground and where do you think my gloriousum plant will produce alot and faster leaves in pot or in the ground?
@onlyplants
@onlyplants 2 жыл бұрын
Gloriosums do very well in the ground and can get huge fast 😀 Alocasias usually like partial direct light but really depends on the species… some can even take full sun such as the macrorrhiza.

Thanks for this instructional video, as always! So if the plant loses its earlier leaves, and there’s an empty stump with no leaves at the back of the plant, if you chop that up to prop, will it affect the maturity of the new leaves coming in off the main parent plant? Or will that not affect the size of its future leaves? Hope my question makes sense!
@onlyplants
@onlyplants 2 жыл бұрын
It will only affect it if that section has lots of roots. The roots are supplying nutrients and water to the whole plant. Removing those roots for propagation will reduce supply. 😀

Usually bright indirect but some can handle partial to full sun, just introduce them to more light slowly and see how they react. More light means more water though!
