Hey Stan, instead of putting that switch on the battery cable, just put it on the starter cable. You can either put it on the starter solenoid wire or on the power cable to the starter. Both work great as long as you use it and it doesn’t mess with the radios or reset anything.

You could wire the disconnect switch into the cable that powers the starter.

Caterpillar equipment has what's called a master disconnect switch, it was intended to prevent equipment fires, it works well for anti theft.

That’s probably not mold, but pollen. Wet weather and lots of plants… plant whoopee is bound to happen!! It’ll wash off. :)

On my old ford, I put a combination lock on my solenoid control wire. I used four three position switches and wired them in a series in a certain way that required them to be in specific positions in order to complete the circuit. The real security was the location of the switches. Two of them were side by side and the other two were in two different spots. I ran the wires thru the factory harness so you couldn’t trace the wires. Even if you knew there were switches, you wouldn’t know the combination and the two hidden switches were very hard to find but easy to access if you knew.

Those of us of a certain age will recall the foot operated high beam switch. I had my mechanic install one on the starter wire leading from my key to the starter solenoid. He mounted the switch underneath my brake pedal so it’s hard to see at a casual glance. So I click it to start my vehicle and then immediately click it again to turn it off.

The app on your phone had a list for all your equipment and you just pull up the app and select the device and turn it on. Kinda nice since it’s just a black box under the hood, not totally obvious what it is, and anyone watching you won’t necessarily be aware of your system since you activate it without going under the hood. Just put a on/ off switch, like the one one boat batteries to the power leg on any engine on the lead wire going to the starter. A simple toggle switch will do also and is easy cto hide. All the electronics and alarms will remain powered. Just the starter won’t engage unless turned on.

Stanley, just interrupt the fuel pump with a hidden switch that only you or trusted employees know about . I set my brothers car up where you had to have the a/c switch on and that fuel pump switch to start it. You can add whatever protection you want even during car jacking, timed relays. hit a button they get away from your family and few blocks later vehicle is useless

I also have a battery disconnect,but it was installed from a company and all the radio stations are saved. It only disconnects the starter so it will not start until I flip the switch

Easy way to save ur rig from getting stole is buy a nrg disconnect and a after marker wheel and u can buy a lock for the hub that stays on the rig they might beable to start it but will never beable to turn the wheels also if u get a battery disconnect like that hook it to the neg so u dont need to reset ur stereo everytime or like others said hook one to ur starter wire and have it hid better

Completely different topic. I just bought my first big boy toy. A tym 574. Little bit of hard work but put my mind to it and now got my tractor.

Put the kill switch on the solenoid instead and your electronics stay going but it won’t turn over. Can also be much smaller.

Before everything became computer controlled you could just do this for the distributor wire/circuit and have switch in the cab …ran mine under the carpet and then under the seatbelt reel

On my golf cart, I can easily unplug a micro switch terminal.

I just shut the diesel tank valve to off on tractor and I don't have a truck so that solves it self lol

Only concern I can think of is the transmission adapts. The shift points will change based on your driving style so I assume they will have to relearn everything you drive

Why not put breaker switch on your ignition low tension wires,you can hide the switch anywhere in the vehicle

I am planning on getting a new jeep next week. Don't worry to much that I know where you live. But I think my new jeep might have some mold growing on it. lol I am only joking. Back in 2017 my house got broken in everything valuable got stolen even the keys to the house and the car my truck what's stolen they were professionals though I will have to say this because you do not drop things you're stealing and last one you're wearing gloves to you have a lookout and you know why you need to drop things and get out and three does no good to call the police if you don't have a home security system even at that that doesn't work cops and the whole law enforcement are lazy I have dealt with them too many times to see this I can go into it but I won't when a human's teenage life was in danger and they did crap until we found out where this child was and said hey if you don't meet us there you might have a problem on your hand guess what they showed up. Another thing you can do and when you asked him a mechanic to do this for you they look at you stupid like they've never had their shop robbed you can simply pull the ignition fuse out of the fuse box I like I said trying to get a mechanic to reroute that fuse so it just had just like your shut-off is shut off switch to the ignition everything else will work you just cannot turn over the vehicle. Because I like I mentioned I was robbed they took one of my truck and I was afraid you were going to come back and steal my truck. So I googled how do I pair my vehicle so no one can start it . They should come up with a kit for that.

Those are made for like drag cars different race cars if the wreck they are mounted on the back of the vehicle. Anyway all you would have to do is run it off the Positive side on the starter wire. You will still have power to your computer on your vehicle but it wont start. Until you turn the Battery disconnect switch then you will have power to your starter.
