Robyn on the Farm's Bread Machine 100% Whole Wheat Bread Recipe
1 1/4 c milk
4 Tbsp melted butter
1/3 c packed brown sugar
3 1/2 c whole wheat flour
1 1/2 tsp salt
2 tsp active dry yeast or instant yeast
1 tsp dough enhancer (optional)
1 tsp vital wheat gluten (optional)
Place ingredients in bread machine pan in order listed. Set to basic white loaf (3 hour cycle). Within the first few minutes of kneading, take a rubber spatula and be sure all of the flour is incorporated into the dough ball. If your dough is too wet it will not look like a ball of dough--add another 1/8 c flour until it is a nice ball of dough. Let bread machine do the rest. I prefer the texture of the crust when I remove the bread right away when the timer goes off. Butter the top of the bread and cover with tea towel while cooling for softest crust. Let cool before slicing for best consistency and crumb. Enjoy your homemade loaf of 100% Whole Wheat Bread!

Thank you! I grind my flour since my mother was diagnosed with cancer and learning a lot of the problems is all of our processed foods I’m making as much as I can from home. My mother died from breast cancer but I’m trying to help myself and and granddaughters

I just ordered the dough conditioner, I already have the vital wheat gluten and some whole wheat flour so I’ll wait until I get it and definitely try this recipe!😊

Because the salt and yeast get mixed together immediately after putting your ingredients in the bread maker, this recipe doesn’t need to keep the salt and yeast separate. That’s important for proofing your yeast, or delay starts, but not for this easy recipe. This is 100% Whole Wheat Bread so it is denser by nature, but the inclusion of the dough enhancer and vital wheat gluten really helps with that, or if you’d like an even better rise, substitute some of the whole wheat flour with bread flour, but it’s not quite as healthy and wholesome!
