Hi, just giving you all an update on my 22 year old son's, 18 year old girlfriend. Tomorrow is her last Chemo Treatment, and her Doctors said the test came back that her Cancer is all gone. Thank you. Your prayers for Jenna truly helped.

We just had a first attempted. Used your video as a guide. Tip for everyone. Use a grinder with the relevant pad, not a sander. The old paint is so hard to remove in some cases. I lost 10hrs and it was still only half ready! Great video, thanks for taking the time.

I got me one exactly like this. Families house in San Francisco has one dumped on the side. I am fixen to take it with me when I move to Upstate NY.. Love it! It was my Great Grandma's tub from when she bought the house 70 years ago. :D

Nice!!! We used to rent an apartment when we lived in NY and it had an old claw tub. I think it was an original tub from when the building use to be an old hotel for the rich folks way back in the day. It was a shame that the current owner's didn't care to preserve some of the original handy work in the building. Anyhow, you did a great job bringing it back to life

That epoxy is an excellent product. Should last for years to come. If it ever chips or scratches it’s an easy fix to put another coat on it. Looks incredible!

I restored an 1860’s large 20 or so gallon cast iron pot using electrolysis to get the paint off and sanded forever with a brass sanding wheel so as not to scratch it. I had to sand it for a week. It is fully restored and can actually cook in it on a fire or propane fish fryer base. I found online a discontinued heavy aluminum lid that fits just perfect. It was so much fun.

I'm refinishing my claw foot that came with my house. My tub does not have a date on the bottom, but has 1C1O, which I haven't looked into yet. It's 5' even in length. I sprayed the outside with 4 coats of Rust-Oleum primer & 4 light coats of Rust-Oleum hammered grey. I'm using BathWorks tub refinishing kit in white for the inside. The bathroom I installed a plastic lookalike tin ceiling, off white walls, & black floating flooring. Rounding it out with a vintage pedestal sink in white, with a new commode. I'm really enjoying the two-tone, light and dark together.

Beautiful!!! Y’all brought it back to life! I rescued an old claw foot bath tub from the scrap metal pile at my hay man’s farm almost nine years ago! It is dated 5/23/1938.....it was in pitiful shape! Mine was brought back to life a couple of years ago.......plain old copper pipe was used to design the framework for holding the shower curtain......Just as you.....I sure am grateful for the blessings❤️🙏🏻❤️

I remember taking a bath with several cousins, long ago, on my grandparents far, in a tub like that 😍 we were little and it seemed like a swimming pool, at the time! Probably ‘59 or ’60. Good times!

I’d of sand/walnut shell blasted it to help preserve the finish of the metal underneath a bit better. I had one of those tubs up until I was 8 or 9. Loved it.

We had an old tub like that all the time I was growing up. When I was real young, about 5, I was afraid of it because the faucet, spout, and that round circle reminded me of an angry face. I was afraid the water would come out all by itself. Lol, when you were painting around those 3 holes it brought back the memory! 😊

Ive refinished THREE tubs in my life! That Rustoleum Kit is AMAZING! It self levels extremely well. All three tubs still look GREAT. They are 4,3, and 2 years in.

Beautiful. Growing up we had the claw foot tub and when my moms house sold in 2006 it still had the claw foot tub. Bathroom is beautiful. Love the colors.

There was a company called Standard Sanitary Manufacturing Company in Louisville, Ky around the time of that date on your tub. That’s all the info I could find.

I could be wrong BUT that number COULD BE the date it was made, so from what I'm understanding that claw tub could be from 1923. They dated things differently at that time for certain items?

what a beautiful job you did on this ol Tub. We have a special order tub in our bathroom. Our House, a craftsman, two bedroom bungalow, was built around 1900, the water came into the house the clerk said down town, from the books there, in 1920. A Plumber working on our kitchen sink, shared the fact that it was made in 1944, which surprised him because of the demand for steel in WWII. Dont know the year on the tub. Tub with shower in the it, it had to have been special ordered, it has sitting space in it of only 34 inches front to back, the entire tub, the same measures 48 inches, front to back. Regular width, with the very back slightly slanted for laying back in it. lol That takes some sense of humor to build it this way. I am only 4 ft 11 inches in height, (used to be 5'1 when I was quite young) and if I want to take a soak I have to sit in it cross legged. Still in good condition, paint/sealer on the porcelain on the bottom of the tub getting thin now. I have lived in a rental in the past which had a tub like you just refinished, just dont have the room here to add one like yours, unless I knock out a wall. But Hubby never takes baths, only showers, even when we had a full size tub where we lived b 4 we bought this retirement home back in 95, he never took baths. Must have been all those 21 yrs in the Army he did, time for a quick shower and thats it. Like he always told my first 4 children I had when we met. One of them going to go take a shower, he said to them "Wash up to possible, down to possible and get the h e l l out! God how I love his sense of humor. Originally a TX Man, he puts up with this Norsk very well.

I found vintage tub and bath place online and we got satin nickel faucet with porcelan in center of faucet like yours. We clean the tub with soft foam cleaner so doesn't scratch it. Everyone wants our tub and the local antique dealer wanted him to do some for them. He declined as this was very time consuming and we are trying to move along and get this place finished up. Started in 2017 and just a little pond/tank on it with over grown cedar trees and brush. We hired out about three acres being cleared but we had to clean it up since didn't want to just doze it ALL off to save some of the trees for wind break and the grasses. Other than that and buying unfinished bldgs we have done it all from fence and gates to utility lines! Les was a Master Electrician and knows plumbing and welding....what we aren't sure best way to do a project we take the time to learn. Kids are grown and thought we had lost our minds....at our age.

Your tub is the same size as ours. We bought our house in 1973 and the clawfoot tub was already in the bathroom, and it was in excellent condition. Our house was built in the 1920's. We put new pipes and faucet on it. I painted it black and placed a pink roses decal on the front and painted the clawfeet gold. Everyone that see it just loves it. The only thing is the older we get the harder it is to get in and out off. I will have to see if I can find a date on the bottom of our tub.

I have one just like this in my bathroom. I have 2 more in my yard. I also have a 6ft and a 6ft skirted tub. I use to resue them. 3 were free and the other 2 were $10.00 and $25.00. I love these old tubs.

I lived in a Millvillage growning up . The first houses were built in 1898 and they all had these claw foot tubs. In the 1970s familes started taking them out and putting showers in the houses. I wish now i would have gotten all of them that was put on the side of the road

Lol..i always said that and.bought a 1922 house that literally has 9 inches of.walking space.because of.water.heater space and tub...where there's a will there's a way...it may not be that great but there's a way..if i GAIN much more weight i cant use the toilet lol

We've got this exact tub. It is indeed from 1919. Ours is vintage 1912 and was framed into the bathroom on original construction. It won't make the turn into the hallway to remove it, because the chimney runs up across from the bathroom door. I'd have to remove a wall, or cut the tub to remove it. It will be here for the next owner.

I just got done painting the outside of our clawfoot tub thank you for the paint recommendation I couldn't be happier how it turned out that oil based paint seemed to have self leveling properties to it and it looks brand new. Now I just need to finish the inside of it and the feet thanks for the video!

I have 3 and was uncertain how to restore them, this video is definitely what I needed to see. my home was built in 1893. thank you actually for all the videos you and Wanda make I really enjoy you guys talents, abilities, endurance and just good ole common sense knowledge

Thank you! We have a clawfoot that needs refinishing and I had no idea how. Although it'll probably take us two years to do it too lol. Always impressed with your knowledge.

It's really not hard. But I would do it outside. You need a fan blowing on it outside just to be able to do it. The epoxy is very strong.

That's beautiful!!! They don't make em like they used to. I just got an older cast iron double sink I'm messing with. Thank you for sharing your knowledge with us.
