I recently put out my P365XL Spectre Comp 1K review. I’ve been carrying it for a while now and it’s been a solid pistol. I’ve got somewhere north of 1250 rounds through it now. Running a 507K green dot and also inspect weekly. I’ve not noticed any rust yet, but just normal carry dust. I may try one of the EPS carry optics because of this. Great update on your Macro Comp! I was one of the Sig holdouts…. Just didn’t care for their newer polymer pistols after a bad P320 experience. But man Sig did an excellent job on these!

My 365xl has been awesome for the past 4 years. No rust except for a spare magazine I had in my pocket during the summer months.

I've been pocket-carrying an original P365 (with safety) since October '23, and have several hundred rounds down the pipe. Since I work outdoors and the weather is warming, I have started getting sweaty and recently noticed a bit of rust around the rear sight. A bit of CLP, and the problem is controlled. Like you, I check the pistol and mags regularly, especially since normal wear is exposing metal on the edges of the controls, as well as the mags. Since this is a working gun, I don't mind normal wear; it gives the gun character. I just need to remember to keep it wiped down with an oily cloth.

My 3rd 365 has been great. I've carried it everywhere and in an array of harsh conditions. It has around 600 rounds through it and literally looks brand new. That said, the night sights have gone out three times and the first two I had broke strikers at well under 100 rounds and without warning. That said, Sig replaced the sights without issue and my third 365 has been a fantastic gun.

You can mount the EPS carry directly to slide with screws from QVO Tactical also.

Yes you can; however, there are no lugs to lock it into place. I prefer the plate to give it more rigidity

I have both X and XL , the only rust I have is on the finish of magazines which amounts to schit , I put the Wilson Combat Macro Short from on the X slide and now I love it even more

I have all sorts of guns that I have never had rust on any of them. I do take care of y guns and clean them at least every month when carrying them.

The slides are stainless steel. If they're rusting, something highly unusual is occurring. The sights, however, are carbon steel and can rust if you sweat a lot and/or have uniquely corrosive sweat and carry primarily AIWB. Yeah, mag rust seems to happen too much on the 17 round mags, typically on spare mags - not those inside the gun. Oil and steel wool normally fixes the issue. I dont recall this happening on XL 12 or 15 round mags.

So far my go to CCW is the P365XL and Ruger LCR. I live in SE Texas with hot & humid weather most of the year. I have not had issues with rust, but I keep it wiped down and clean. I switched to the P365XL from my trusty Gen 1 Shield 9 that I got when they first came out.

@@FitnFire I'm using a Trex Arms Ironside hybrid I'm a fat guy so can't apendix carry and this is the most comfortable holster I have. Have one for my Hellcat Pro also , was hard to find one for tlr7a most are for tlr7 sub

I was hesitant to get my P365 (the original standard one) years ago after all of the issues they had when they first came out. But I needed a micro sized pistol so I went with it. After a few months of carrying it my mags developed rust at the bottom of the mag where the baseplate sits. Mind you I wear an under shirt between my gun and my body, and I live in Utah so it's not humid here like at all. Super disappointed with rust after such a short amount of time. I don't carry it anymore and after the P365 issues and the P320 issues Sig is just not something I really care to buy any more.

Trex Arms ran the P365 X model hard in their latest carry gun video, everyone got burned thumbs riding the ledge with the light, wonder if the comp keeps the slide cooled off for longer 🤔

I will say it seems to get heated up quicker than my other carry guns. But, I have never had a concern with it being so hot it burned me.

I have a 365 XL and a macro comp. The macro comp gets very hot very fast compared to the XL.

I've had mine less than a year. And I just noticed rust around the rear sight and the back of one of my magazines. I cleaned it up as soon as I noticed it. But man, that's pretty disappointing for the amount of money it cost. I do really like the feel and size of the XMACRO, but the rust issues got me contemplating getting something else!

I alter between a p365 and my Glock 19. Mostly the p365 though. I don't leave the house without it And I've been carrying it for at least 5 years. Not a spot of rust on the gun. And I don't really oil it every week or two or month or 6 months. It's a fantastic gun. But I'm going to pick up the x macro comp. Just because I really love the way it looks and should cut down on recoil. I've seen the barrel comp from afterburner and for 400 bucks. I just go buy a gun for a little more and have a whole gun.

I bought an x macro comp about 10 months ago. I put close.to 2,000 rounds through her with out any issues. About 6 weeks ago i encountered a dead trigger issue. Called sig, they sent me a label and they fixed the issue (at least for now). They said they changed the trigger bar spring. Paid 800 bucks for it. Had it on my night stand and it was number 1 on my carry rotation. Got it back in a week. Put about 350 rounds through it with no further issues. Just saying.

I wouldn’t say it’s necessarily the same as the radian ramjet because some they said felt recoil is supposed to be reduced way more than the stock comp that comes out of the box on the X-macro.

Shot the Radian Ramjet P365 model at Shot Show range day. It definitely reduced recoil but is wasn't any better than the X Macro Comp imo

It is an issue. Started to carry 365 xl in winter. After 3 months I had rust on sights, fire control group, trigger. When it got hot at spring, it went insane. If I didn’t clean month rust on sights was so bad, it was causing problems to aim. Trigger was getting gritty. Magazines looked like I threw them to the sea. But final drop for me was when I bought red dot and decided to mount it. The amount of rust under the plate was insane. Also in threads of screws. This gun rusts the same way as my cz vz. 82. Decided to get rid of Sig. Love the concept of the gun, capacity, way it shoots, how easy is it to carry.. but rust man. Ridiculous

@@FitnFire once a month ish. Not counting cleaning after gun range. When huge amounts of rust appeared I didn’t clean it for two months. Also I didn’t shoot at all, cos in our restaurant quit many people at the same time and I worked 80 ish hours a week. Gun was on my appendix while going to and from work, so maybe hour a day and then in zippered pouch on my belt. Didn’t feel like I needed to clean it. I know I can solve it by just cleaning often, problem is red dot for me. I dont wanna to take it down every few months to clean under it

I don’t know how many guns you own , but I will ask you this . What other guns you own , have you found rust on the magazine? I own a decent amount of guns and Sig is the only I found rust on the magazines. Sig has definitely changed their finish on their guns and magazines.When people stop making excuses for Sig they will change their finish and the problem will be solved. My older Sigs , I never had any problems with anything.

Yes, the CZ SP-01 Tactical and Beretta 92fs mags both exhibited rust. You’re 100% that this is a new phenomenon with the P365 series and it should NOT be a thing. However, I also find that the “average” gun owner doesn’t shoot or PMCS their firearm on a regular basis. If that isn’t you, then disregard. But, I have carried this pistol over the hottest days of summer, sweating all over it, and there are been no rust on the slide. Seems odd that I would carry it in harsh conditions and not have issues with the firearm when other had issues nearly immediately. Idk, maybe mine is a gem 🤷🏼‍♂️

The complaints about rust is purely down to neglect. It’s not a Glock, which can pretty much be ignored. I shoot mine twice a month. I’m nearing 4k rounds. I inspect it and the mags after each range session and wipe them down, and clean it every 500rds. I spent a lot of money on it, so I cate for it. I’d recommend the DPM Recoil Deduction System to address that issue. Mine too has performed flawlessly. I carry mine every day in a Tier 1 Concealed Axis Elite (excellent holster) - highly recommended. If anyone’s Sig suffers rust, look in the mirror.

I use Corrosion X to wipe mines down daily. Best stuff I tried so far to prevent rust.

I do not have any experience with the Tacops version but really it is nearly the same pistol. I like the comp and and don't need a mag well. Other people may prefer the Tacops features but for me...I am happy with the Macro Comp

I have rust issues with 4 of my 17rd mags, and one is new and only sees the inside of my range bag right now. So I wipe them down every night with an oiled rag. I have the XL Spectre on a Macro grip, only rust I've seen on the gun itself is on the backplate, the finish isn't the same as the slide so it got worn and funny looking. I've also had Glocks pit and rust on the sides, so is not out of place. Just maintenance. I'm in SE Iowa and spend a lot of time in the humid heat.

I sold mine ..loved the gun but after I bought a GX4Carry and used the lakeline ported barrel it runs better by miles ..so they were the same gun and ones 350$ less

I have the Tacops version, and it's probably the best carry gun I've ever had.. I'm now convinced that all the bullshit narratives about this gun comes from Glock fanboys.. If your gun is rusting it's because u aren't cleaning it properly..
