Thank you for the experience my friend! I tried my best, but there were quite a few problems. First of all I build 2nd barrack instead of ghost academy, I knew that you would probably go for ravagers (I know you too well lol), Second MY SCV GOT STUCK TWICE BRO LIKE WTF, and third I didn't pull enough scv and didn't turn on the auto repair on them sadly. Challenge Idea: Archon Survival Choose a big map that is a bit hard to defend and everyone plays the same map (for fairness purposes) In every match up the player chooses whether you play micro or macro Determine before hand how many AI on max difficulty (My idea is between 3-5). Or play against a full roster of Elite AI (full team, so if it's a 4v4 map then 4 Elite AI), make sure they all have the same build every game as well. The player that survives the longest wins. Prize money for the top three to make it more exciting? The games might be quite longer and this would probably favour higher MMR players, so maybe do it in divisions but that does make it complicated and i don't think it's necessary, anyone can practice strats vs AI and even if you don't have high MMR you can beat AI pretty easily if you know exactly how to abuse them. Most people would probably be wise to choose you to play micro as well because if you can focus purely on macro then I think the skill ceiling for most people kinda dips a bit while micro is much more dynamic and situational. Just an idea though, would love to see something like it.

I think the best play for any of these matches is to proxy him and threaten to take his base if uthermal moves out to attack mine. Just save 400 for a nexus/cc or 300 for hatch and threaten the base trade. Its very slow to base trade and have to rebuild to kill your old base as well.
@joshuadalton60635 ай бұрын
Yep I think just about every game a proxy cheese or 12pool would have slowed him down a heap, the problem with at least half or more of the games is literally the 1st unit(s) started doing damage or even killing outright (one of the terran games marc one with the first 2 reapers lol), so returning the favour of the pressure would have made a lot of difference.

I was really hoping so see somebody trying to defend against the cheese with units and turn it into a regular match (if "regular" is applicable to Marc's games). Alas, people chose not to rest their luck and went into "A turtle hides its eggs" mode :)
@martonkos30665 ай бұрын
Yeah good luck doing that against a random that is going to try to kill you as fast as possible you have 66% chance you lose in 3-4 min. This is a really tricky challange, playing against a cheesing random is the most unfair thing in the game.
@floriancazacu45045 ай бұрын
agreed, aggressive builds done at home should have an unfair advantage, because aggressive builds are strong even with the time it takes to walk across the map, so doing them but just for defence is way stronger if your goal is just to survive as long as possible. but I think nerves got the players this time. They also chose way too complicated strategies. The best way is to pick something really simple to execute, like macro hatch -> mass speedling and queens, nothing else, no upgrades. If Marc comes in with 3 tanks and you have 40 speedlings he can't just outmicro that, he has to wait for a bigger army, more tech, etc.

a building in your natural would have been clutch, especially if it was slipped in after the initial scout. i dont think your scouting ever checked behind your naturals minerals. I was also hoping the zerg player had burrow and had one hidden in his main so when you killed the main to look for the other bases they could pop it up and rebuild in their main away from the minerals. i dont think that was being scouted. hindsight though!
