@@omnipotentgaming166 stock vq internals are good for max like 380-400 tq. you can push 450 hp if you lower the torque. high torque on stock interals will bend the rods. if you build internal or put 370z internals you can make almost double the torque

@@qualydinero7451 I’m dead serious, the guy I bought it off of built the entire motor, had a supercharger set up on it then swapped out the blower for a turbonetics kit and decided to sell it for 6k, I took advantage and jumped on it real quick, the only thing I have to do to it is connect the exhaust because it needs a reverse y pipe, install the new 650cc injectors and bigger intercooler he threw in so I can turn up the boost

If you go closed deck with the right head stud/gasket combo on these VQs it solves the head lift issue for all those saying headlift

False. The gasket/headstuds still can pop and get headlift. You have to do the fire hoops, which only soho and Maxworx do from what I know unless you find a shop that’ll do it for you.

I'm still surprised most z guys aren't using Jim wolf cams. For the vq. They already doing pistons so why not go with big boy c9 292 exhaust and c10 310 intake. There are a few 400hp + all motor ones running around that way. And idle like a cammed v8. Check out Michael Gardner for reference.

@@blakelip3 yes Nisformance is great with FWD maxima motors….I live 15 minutes from the shop and they’re always putting out some fast cars….I just haven’t seen any fast RWD cars except for their shop Z DE which uses a 2013 DE maxima motor and has the 1/4 NA record…they just gotta get the RWD stuff figured out for customers

@@1-Six-dee vq37 can go about 650-700 reliable before head lift, vq35de 400-450 Before that bitch go kaboom, vq35hr I’ve seen 550 highest last for awhile but not long Vqs even built have the infamous headlift issue on them 700+

Tons of differences. There are 2 VG30s too. One SOHC and one DOHC. The SOHC has seen several 600+ on stock internals. Mine made 545 on stock 8 years ago still going strong. The DOHC VG typically can make more on stock as the rods are stronger and the oil pump is better for higher RPM.

With my experience, VQ can only go SO high. Swap to VR engine, like a 3.5 and your ceiling will match your wallet!

I've had it 24 YEARS and im gonna need some fabrication for the Gate to Downpipe... IM Disabled And may possibly need some other work done...like AN Lines, mostly I need an ECU .. I've had all the money ready to go ..but I past out at work ,And my life Changed for ever and I stopped breathing (3xSaved) then a 15 hour surgery removing 6 of my organs..
