Great little skid steer for a 2 man operation,its when you have multiple operator's that'll it'll show why it can't compete with a CAT in heavy construction anyways. That maintenance is is the lifeline to those Kubotas and incredibly important.
@coryl51422 жыл бұрын
When you are changing your filters especially the ones that you have near the operators station or hold fuel just break them loose then slip a plastic bag up around them before removing them, that way the bag will catch the spillage and you have less mess to clean up. I love your videos. Happy New Year!

If you take the air compressor to it first and blow it out it makes it a lot easier to wash out👍🏼

There are two schools on pre-filling filters, I can see both sides. One says filling the filter with clean oil means fresh oil is there sooner on start up, but if any contamination does get in it bypasses the filter and goes right into the engine or hydraulics. Not sure which is right.

As I am watching the video I had a flashback to draining oil when I was growing up on our farm. We had a very similar catch pan that was used for lots of things besides catching oil. It was a great place to wash off parts. Then I remembered just what our pan and I suspect yours was originally. It was a white enameled metal drawer from an old refrigerator. I also suspect the pan is older than your Dad. They were just deep enough and also a pretty good size. Okay, you could not drain the oil from a tractor, but it was real handy for many things around the farm, They were also very sturdy!

After this video I also watched the one from 08/2020 when you got the Kubota to "try out". It's interesting to see how comfortable you all are now at driving the Kubota, it's like second nature now. I also noticed you seem to have gotten rid of that annoying backup beeper. That would've been the first thing to go if it were my dad's skid steer, he used to dig through the dashboards on our cars looking for the "binging" things for seatbelts and headlights on warning etc. They drove him crazy.

I think it was Abe Lincoln that said "If I have 6 hours to cut down a tree, I'll spend the first 4 hours sharpening my axe." Taking care of your equipment is important. I had no idea until I started watching channels like yours how much time a farmer spends not "farming", but rather fixing and maintaining their equipment.

10 gen, young man you have the solution to vertical image clarity!! A go-pro and screen inside the cab!! You use go-pro's for lots of great shots- so just rig one that you can clean the lens easily and put a display up there behind the the low visibility area of the roof! Then when you de-bug it- offer it to others as a high bucket position visibility solution!!!

Soak the engine compartment of your Kubota down with cheap degreaser from the dollar store before rinsing in hot water. It is also useful for outside.. with your warm water... will help remove dirt and keep it from sticking for future dirt, dust, oil and grime.

Not sure if your model is one that has this drain flaw but take a look in the area where the lower lift cylinder pin mounts the cylinder to the frame directly in front of the rear wheels. Some models trap dirt in this are real bad causing destruction to parts. There is usually an inspection plate underneath it.

If I can recommend a cost savings : I work on Cat equipment and even at our dealership we generally use Donaldson filters on our equipment, it’s almost always cheaper and they are just as effective as the OEM brand. Definitely hurts the wallet a little less! Their website has a great cross reference tool, all you need is the part number off the filter.

Kubota really protects it's systems. Looking after it the way you do I think it will last a long time. Might need tires one day but that applies to everything rolling. A skinny squeejee might make the top window better for you. You're right about the door, so much easier to work with. I like to watch you do services. Oil is black, coolant is not. Good video. Pax.

An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure. I decided to try a special diet to fix my cholesterol which was high and it lowered from 210 mg/dl (high) to 125 (ideal). This happened very fast and stayed down but most people don't want to do the diet because it's radical and it's not moderate. It's whole food-plant based and fixed my weight to a very good level, and fixed my resting heart rate which was high. My blood pressure is still a little high but it was lowered and I came off the blood pressure medication. All these are still true almost 5 years later now on the whole food-plant based diet.
