The optional Park Distance Control (PDC) with sensors at both the front and rear of BMW 1 Series provides visual and acoustic signals to prevent collisions with obstacles located to the side or rear of the vehicle. A rear view camera can also be found on the options list. The optional Parking Assistant goes further still by offering automatic assisted parking in spaces that are either parallel or perpendicular to the road. The system takes care of steering the car, accelerating and braking, plus - on automatic models - making the necessary gear selections. On manual models, it is the driver who controls the direction of travel. The Parking Assistant is also capable of automatically maneuvering out of parallel parking spaces.

I noticed the A Class will pull out of the parking space then give back control when it is half way out. Interesting to see everyone's approach.

It would also be cool, if you could make a video in which you compare the different parking systems. It seems like you're having a huge experience in different parking system, so probably no one can compare it better than you, @1001cars

Will you also soon be able to test the new facelift E Class? Apparently the driving assistant is now improved. Would love to see it. And apparently it is able to park as quick as a human as it uses new sensors and software.

Thanks for posting this! Would you also be able to demonstrate the driver assist features on the BMW 1 Series? For example, does it have any of the same kind of auto-steer and adaptive cruise control features that the Tesla has, on highways or in traffic?

Thanks for the demonstration and video. I have the same feature on my 2023 BMW 120i M sport. Problem is that I don't get a signal from the car that a parking spot is possible when driving by a parking spot. Do I something wrong? This parking feature is checked on in the setup so I wonder what is going wrong. Thanks.

It is really strange to be honest... Can you record simple video? It is enough to use your smartphone.

@@1001cars Hi Thanks for the reply. I will check it and film it if I can. I find out that I don't use the direction indicator when passing by a parking spot so maybe that is the problem? Maybe I drive to fast also? Are there maybe other setup things in the car menu that I need to do to use this feature?

@@TheBarts27 Inside the setting you can find one option about searching the parking slots during the slow driving. But it would be strange if this feature is turned off. Also: the speed is of course limited.

Noob question, but I have just ordered a Manual version of this car and included Parking Assist as an option. I assume this works with a manual gearbox?

I did not have opportunity to check it, but probably it can work as a steering assist only. Definitely the system will ask you to change the gears, and probably you also will have to keep the speed and use the brakes. This is how it works in different cars with manual gearbox.

@@1001cars Thanks for the reply. Yeah, I've just found a video of a 3 series with a manual so all is good. Afraid i'd wasted £350 for a minute. :) Subbed. Good luck with the channel.
