Happened to me too. New age pagan for two decades, ten years of growing dope in colo, then Jesus tapped me on the shoulder...

I remember when I was 16. I was an extreme atheist, depressed to the point where I cried every night, abused cannabis and I had nothing going on in life. I never really understood how depression worked and since I was a “drug enthusiast” I’ve read a lot about LSD and how people used it to treat depression. I was reckless and decided to take a dose of 120ug without guidance around a big group of friends who were either sober or on other types of drugs. About an hour into the experience I started seeing the beauty of nature…then it got weird. I started seeing shapes, distorted faces, connections in random things and even peoples egos. It really messed with my mind to the point where I was staring into the floor for what felt like ages. I remember this image…a void with a rollercoaster with me in the cart. The tracks were connected by two tunnels that stood about 3-5 meters away from each other, yet they lead to one another…it was like a never ending rollercoaster. I soon realised what was happening and told myself that everything was gonna be ok…that’s when I felt at peace. It felt like my head was on top of the highest mountain made of cold white sand with the rest of my body under the sand. That’s when I realised why I was depressed. I realised that the reason for my loneliness and sadness was because I’ve done absolutely nothing to better myself as a person…I had no goals or achievements to be happy about. I also realised that the ego is a construct of the mind, a result of memories and trauma…it isn’t material therefor I can change it to my liking. I stopped masturbating, playing videogames, broke up with my girlfriend and started working out and meditating. A few months later I decided to take LSD again…a dose of 150ug. While on a walk with my buddies, I started feeling it…the same feeling of peace. I was observing my surroundings when it hit me…”All is one”. A few months later and tons of meditation sessions later I finally understood what “All is one” meant. That “one” is god and all that there is in existence is god. We are all the same minds, experiencing reality through different lenses/masks that are our egos. All praise god, I wish you all happiness in life.

It's honestly scary that I spent 27 of my life much like this searching and exploring and THINKING you're getting closer when it's really the opposite. Now it breaks my heart to see my friends who still wander and feel the emptiness I felt but I give them compassion bc I was once in their shoes

I have many parallels to this testimony. The lord came to me 17 months ago. Never content, a searcher for truth but not knowing what that truth was. Christ will be the last port of call for many. Praise Jesus,I had a similar experience,just with scripture,I never used to see the scripture on the back of taxis here home in Uganda until after I got born again,then I saw what I could not see before,these scriptures had been all along on taxis but I even my girlfriend could not see them until soon after we got born again.And now Jesus speaks to me with scriptures,it's like serendipity,too coincidence to be coincidence in my daily life,Praise Jesus,Thank you JESUS for taking away this spiritual blindness form my eyes,Thank you JESUS

I've been down that road. God really does reach out and speak to people sometimes, when they are in the throes of drugs. Seems counter-intuitive, but it's true. I'll never forget my amazing momentary encounter! It changed my life! I am often reminded of Psalm 107 when I reflect back on this.

Yes I went through the same things, finally I heard God say to me "Be still and know that I am God'. Then God brought some Godly men into my life who taught me the gospel, the scriptures. When times get rough look back at that time when God said "welcome home" and remember GOD CALLED YOU and it is God who is working in you. Run the race with perseverance. God bless you.

He or an Angel spoke audibly to me. It happened in my house when nobody was home and a loud, soft, beautiful voice although it sounded like a woman’s voice I want to stress it rang through the house but directly at me. I tell people it was as though the voice came from someone sitting on the top of the stairs shouting at me. Jesus loves us all! He truly is “Loves pure light”!

Really liked hearing his story here! It’s somewhat applies to me… I was a hippie or I would call myself a “borderline hippie“! I did a little LSD, and a little other stuff/other drugs, and was a Nishiren Shoshu Buddhist(from modern day Japan) for a fairly brief stint in Philadelphia. Oh, I had done transcendental meditation before that for a while. Went to quite a few different churches, searching other faiths… I was raised in the Episcopal church… also tried all this New Age stuff! Well, maybe the Buddhism was New Age stuff?! I did rebirthing, body harmony, externalization through Elizabeth Kubler Ross(death and dying)… oh, I was super into astrology! Etc.! Oh, went and lived and worked at Hippocrates health institute in Boston, run by and Wigmore, that had to do with strict vegetarian diet of raw foods only, etc. Oh, also had an Israeli boyfriend who got me into Judaism a bit. He asked me to marry him and convert to Judaism. I said no, because I couldn’t deny Jesus Christ!!! Though I said I was an agnostic to an atheist at the time and throughout part of my life… But I knew that Jews didn’t believe the Christ was the Messiah, though I think I basically did know that!

I've experienced God as well and it had no image. Everyone's experience is unique, we all conceptualize it differently. That's great for him!

Yes drugs can sometimes bring you to god by showing such far out visions and then when you come down you say to yourself ‘if a drug can induce fantastic visions what must heaven be like ‘. That’s the question I asked myself and that’s why I believe in god . I no longer take drugs as I am waiting for the real thing in heaven .

I Love the Absurd notion , and Mindset , that EVERYTHING Spiritual , outside of Religion , is Blanketed under the term New Age , when almost all the Spiritual practices and concepts considered New Age , are so Ancient , that they are unfathomably Stupendous in their antiquity , when Religion is a newborn infant in comparison , the Level of misunderstanding and lack of knowledge , is immediately self evident when terms like these are used , and they are not subjective .

Mushrooms will bring you to Jesus and peace if you use them with respect.

I was a philosophy major in college; after I graduated I spent the next decade in buddhism, hinduism, taoism, new age, etc. before coming to Christ in 2013, and then fully surrendering in 2020. I know exactly what he means when he talks about his struggle with the "exclusiveness" of Christianity; but Jesus is the Way, the Truth and the Life--narrow is the path that leads to life and broad is the path that leads to destruction.

I'm sure religion can provide answers where there normally are none but y'all in the comments need to stop pretending christianity is the only path to happiness and fulfillment. This is just this guy's personal experience with religion giving him a sense of direction in life. Which is definitely a good thing but there are other ways to find direction or "meaning" in everyday life. Just watch/read other religion's conversion stories and you'll find a similar theme. It's the same story. Mormonism "saved" my step-grandma in the same way. Being religious does not guarantee you happiness, and I think more people need to hear that. Religion can help those who aren't satisfied with saying "I just don't know". Our existence is very strange indeed and it makes sense to explain it away with some sort of religion, but I personally think it's okay to admit you don't know much about the nature of reality and (probably) neither does anybody else. Nobody really knows what's going on, they only pretend to. Does it really make sense to let other people think for you? Do they know something you don't? Or perhaps they're just as lost as you are. Theism is a philosophical dead end. There, I said it. Masquerading as a man with a reason My charade is the event of the season And if I claim to be a wise man, It surely means that I don't know

I was an evangelist but after continuing into the mind conditioning that is the teaching of hermeneutics I looked beyond the veil and began to search for the truth. I found it within me, because eternity is in us, and psychedelics showed me the way. I truly feel bad when someone doesn’t have a pleasant experience but all I can say is maybe they didn’t need them then in the first place?
