I do not understand why they blame Elizabeth for dragging Burton down. Taking him away from the stage to Hollywood and ruining him. He left The Old Vic, went to Hollywood and made pictures before he even met her. It was his choice to leave, right or wrong. If he continued making movies after meeting her, that was his choice. Everyone is responsible for their own actions.

Burton was very amicable when interviewed considering he was so temperamental. Great voice he had and intelligence. RIP old boy.

I don't think people understood and treated addiction then the way they do now. Elizabeth Taylor helped to improve that understanding by her public admission to the Betty Ford Center in the early '80's.

i can't stand Sally she didnt let him be buried in wales and tried to ban his sister who was like his mother and brought him up! all his brothers and sisters and obvs Elizabeth from his funeral!!

Thanks so much for posting this. It was wonderful to see Richard Burton's wife Sally along with his daughter Kate in the clips and John Hurt along with Michael Radford the director of "1984" offer their respects of Richard Burton in this clip. I enjoyed watching this.

richard burton died from a cerebral hemmorage, i think it was due to being a chain smoker and heavy drinking, which is a blessing cause the other ways to die from that, cancer and all the other things is worse,

Look, Mr. Burton dumped Ms. Taylor for a much younger woman (Susan Hunt) and when he had another opportunity to get back with Ms. Taylor, he instead choose another much younger woman (Sally Hay). I think Mr. Burton just got tired of Ms. Taylor after awhile.

Richard was a man of dignity. And no man would be treated as hen peck as he said in an interview .along with Taylor. He was tired of working for her and gifting her worlds largest diamond rings each bdays. How much could a man be slave like this . He just wanted to get away from her sight as Elizabeth was using him .she fell in love with every other man she married for her purpose and thats harsh for men like Eddie and richard to end their lifes in such depression s
