How to connect your phone via bluetooth to the Chrysler Town & Country

I rent a lot of car. Normally, I can connect my cell via bluetooth in a matter of seconds. But not with the Town and Country. The process of hooking up your phone to this minivan is looooooong. It took me a bit to figure out, so I thought I'd share some instructions.

You set the pin during the initial set up. I usually just use "1234", but you can use any number combination you want.

The PIN is something you get to pick yourself during the initial set up, so you don't need the original owner's PIN. Just start the set up from the beginning and choose any 4 digit PIN you like. I use 1234 in the video, but you can use any number combination you like. And I feel your pain/frustration. The whole system is annoying. I actually have a 2017 rental right now, so if you run into more trouble, let me know and I'll try things out on my rental to see if your issues are unique to your van. Good luck!

I have a 2016 and The first time I got it I couldn’t find the Bluetooth option on my car and I was sad that I didn’t have Bluetooth (bought an aux cord eventually). I was even convinced of changing the whole radio for a new one with a Bluetooth and a whole year has gone by and I just randomly looked up how to connect Bluetooth on a t&C and this comes up and now i have Bluetooth and it works perfectly! Thanks for the video

HELP QUESTION: I had a Samsung Android phone, when paired it would notify me of Text Messages & read them aloud, if I prompted aloud, READ TEXT MESSAGE. I paired my new Iphone 11, it worked - I can speak to my caller (whether I dial them or they dial me), but I am not getting TEXT notifications, nor can I command to READ TEXT MESSAGES. My 19 yr old son tells me it is probably not allowed with Iphones, is that correct? BTW, thank you for this video!

Thank you for this video. I have a chrysler rental and couldn't figure out how to pair to my phone. Whoever designed the interface on these chrylser radios is very bad at their job. Not intuitive at all. They got carried away with the novelty of voice commands. Often buttons are better.

You may not have the system. Some of the trim levels have the physical unit (so it looks just like the one in my video), but don't have the Uconnect software. Grab your vin and try calling your local dealer. They should be able to tell you if you have it.

Hey 100 Rental Cars :) I've been searching all over the internet and can't find the answer to my question. We just purchased a used 2019 Dodge Grand Caravan. When I push the VR button, I get the little icon in the upper right hand corner of the screen, but I can't hear the beep or any of the vocal prompts the system should be giving me. Words like "Voice Training" and "Help" come on the screen, but I can't hear the system speaking/system prompts. I cannot figure this out! Did the previous owner turn off the system prompts somehow? And how can I turn them back on? I'm stumped!! Anyone have any ideas? :)

First off, I'm sorry it took me so long to respond to your comment. Secondly, no, I don't know exactly what's going on. But it does seem like something is either broken or a system setting has been turned off. I'd suggest calling a dealer. I know it's annoying to have to call in, but it's really the best way to get help on something like this. Good luck!

I had the same problem. Turn up the speaker. I had to turn mine way up to hear the voice prompts. My Dad's owned this van for nearly 3 years and could never it out until seeing this video.

You might not have bluetooth. I've talked with some other people with the same issue. They ended up calling their local dealer with their VIN and confirmed that they don't have bluetooth in their van. I think that's what you both should try. If the dealer says you have the system, I'll gladly help you troubleshoot.

@@joelacosta3051 go on eBay and buy a $7 Bluetooth that plugs into the audio Jack or one that plugs into the cigarette lighter that works off FM radio. Telephone wall operate over the speaker system.

No, you definitely can't play movies off your phone/iPod. For that's you'll need to spend an extra $1,000 or so for the screen/DVD player.

I'd suggest calling your local dealer. There are models of the Town & Country that have a similar looking screen, but don't actually have the UConnect system. Crazy, right? I haven't found anyway to check this online, which is why I suggest just calling your local dealer and asking if your vehicle has UConnect. Make sure you have your VIN when you call, they'll probably need it to check for you. Good luck!

I'm not 100% sure; however, some of the lower trim levels don't have Bluetooth connectivity. They system looks the same on the outside, but inside it's missing the pieces to connect to your phone. My best advice would be to call the dealer and ask (have your VIN# handy). I know it's a pain the butt, but it's the best way to find out exactly what's going on with your vehicle. Good luck! Useless useless useless LCD program in this car. The navigation is useless as well. I can't change the location while I'm driving. I have to use my own GPS. I dont know how is this car passed the standard inspection. When I open the back LCD for kids , it completely blocks the rear window and I can't see anything or the cars behind me. I had Honda minivan I never had this problem when I use the LCD for kids I was still being able to see my rear window and the cars behind me.

Sorry to hear that. My best advice is to call your local dealer. Some of these vans have a similar looking system, but don't actually have bluetooth connectivity. Your dealer should be able to search your VIN and tell you if you have the feature. Good luck!

An american one. Our last van was a 2007 and all I had to do to connect the Bluetooth was press a button to sync them. We just bought a 2013 van and almost all the onscreen controls are just an over complicated mess.

It’s a crap set up. I have a 2012 and I can’t for the love of god get my phone to pair. I guess crap vans have crap Bluetooth setups. It’s just all crap. We call it the poop van because of this. Lol
