My rear screen will light up the menu but stopped working with dvds. Strange.. surely it doesn’t need a new ribbon cable if it’s working on startup

Yes, but you need a HDMI to AV depending if the console has an HDMI output or AV output.

It does, depending on what features were put into the van. But my 2014 does have 2 movie screens.
