I hadn't seen you use this post hole digger before you started the pool deck. What an awesome tool to have.

It's bitter sweet being you went through a tornado and rebuild then repurpose the remnants 😥😃. You may know this but watching this video reminds me of the 3,4,5 method of finding square anywhere. From the outside corner measure out in 2 directions 3 and 4 then from those ends, bring in 5 diagonally and when all the points match you have a true 90° angle. Works in all increments 3,4,5 inches or feet.

I've recently started applying that method. Don't know what's taken me so long to use it.

Good job on using the post hole digger. Two things I noticed which you may know by now being 19 months later are, if you cut your post down to approximate size in the beginning it will be easier in your back putting them in the holes and getting them straight. Secondly noticed several times when you get off your tractor to hook/unhook implement, off load something the tractor was not idled down which over the long term would save you on fuel cost. Again you probably already figured these out by now, but I just joined and watching your older videos noticed a few things. Keep up the great work.

Appreciate the feedback! I'm stuck with two size augers due to cost and not wanting to buy more. Sadly this tractor has teir 4 emissions thanks to our government and if not kept idling high it will regen often burning even more fuel and requiring me to run the tractor for up to 30 minutes whether I need to run it or not. A great environmental savings right ugh 😩. Take care!

Still awesome.. This channel needs to grow. I have 6 acres of pines. I don't need a tractor that big, but the "remote" feature is cool. First night I ran across the channel.

Nice looking place you have there. Up by the Canadian border in WA state we would see a lot of rocks coming up with that auger

Farmers best friend is the PTO post hole digger. Here in TN you’d get off and on tractor busting rock also. Good start to the fence.

Oh trust me, I am so thankful that we just don't have the rock others do. It makes digging so much easier. We do have hard packed clay, but the post hole digger eventually eats through that.

What is the make and model number ofthe post hole digger? Just a side thought, if you carry a carpenter's torpedo level, you won' t have to shoot the angle by eye. Great vid, thanks for posting.

Post hole digger made easy! You made it look easy! Nice work! Nice you were able reuse the wood from the barn! Those are some heavy pieces! Well done! It is great you can build something out of all that devastation. Keep it up man!🍺🇺🇸

Luckily and thankfully we just don't have much rock here , other than hard packed clay, it's easy digging. I'm definitely going to be reusing all of that barn, I have a crazy idea in mind for using more of that material in a later episode. It's going to be a weird twist.

It's an underrated feature for sure, although I did wind up driving to far forward on the last hole. I love it for hooking up, I have a lot of equipment and several are not quick hitch compatable.

Things are coming along nicely, I think the last hole you dug may be off of level a bit, maybe it was the camera angle. ha ha. You will like your pocket hole jig, i bought one and they work really good. Thanks for sharing buddy.

Slowly but surely coming along, and yes the last hole went in at an angle. However because it was oversized I didn't have trouble setting the post centered. I went to far forward right after I explained not to do that lol.

How deep are the holes , how tall are the post?
@TKCL
@TKCL 4 жыл бұрын
Holes were around 3.5 ft deep, I didn't measure. Post were random lengths on the 6x6s, they were from a barn that blew down in a tornado. 4x4s were 10ft long and the t posts were 7ft.

It's a local blend of 6 parts. 50 percent chicken manure for nitrogen, everything else is bark and mulch. Things are growing well, but it does seem to be a bit high in nitrogen as some leaves are burning. It should be fantastic next year once it breaks down a little more.
