I remember being maybe 11 or 12 years old when this show first premiered and thinking it was the most unique, glorious and super-serious thing Cartoon Network had ever done. Not that there was anything wrong with comedy, or that teh show couldn't be funny at times, but I felt like it tickled the level of Batman the Animated series in terms of respect for children's ability to understand and accept. I know it sounds weird, but I felt like a kid whose parents were like, "Okay, we're giving you this because we know you can handle it and we trust you." If that makes any sense at all. My favorite scene of all time in this series was one in "Jack Versus Mad Jack". He's walking, and his hat blows away, flies back to him, but stays just out of reach, and flies away again. Then his sandal breaks. I remember thinking, "Oh Jack... that's your life in a nutshell"

I remember how pumped I was any time I saw Samurai Jack on TV. I was such a fan as a kid I remember being in my back yard as a kid swinging around my plastic katana in my bed time robe with my friend pretending to be the scottsman with his supersoaker duct taped to his leg and swinging his big foam dollar store sword. Fact 108: Another inspiration for Samurai Jack was the Frank Miller One shot graphic novel, "Ronin". Like Samurai Jack, it's about a nameless samurai warrior thrown into a dystopian future in order to battle the shape-shifting demon, Agat. Oddly enough Agat in the comic, has a similar head design as Aku.

Samurai Jack always stood out to me as a kid simply because of just how cinematic it looked and how little Jack himself spoke. Looking back on it now, it is a perfect example of "show, don't tell". Stories don't always need narration or dialog to be engaging and characters don't always need to speak in order to be endearing. Jack was very likable and managed to show a lot of personality despite being so quiet. His actions and facial expressions were more than enough to convey what he was thinking and feeling.

I remeber watching it when I was really small and loving it. It was really cool and even as a kid, I had known the term, would have called it breath taking. Im ADD and Dyslexic and incredibly visual in many aspects of my life, so watching it as a kid made me feel so smart because i knew what was happening and didnt have to worry about trying to follow what people where saying.

#31 really speaks to me. As an anime fan, I am greatly annoyed when the fans (or creators) of an American localization try to justify their lull destruction by saying that it was done to "appeal to children." The show was just fine the way it was, you need not to make unnecessary changes.

SuperVegerot When you say "as an anime fan," I take it that what you had to say about 31 would be referring to how in action cartoons and anime targeted at kids, the characters sometimes just stop fighting to give needless dialogue. At least, I know that's a factor for anime (Naruto being one of the absolute worst offenders). If I'm wrong, then please correct me.

Jack and the baby wasn't actually the last aired episode. Aku vs Jack was, in November, 2 months after the Jack and the Baby episode. episodes weren't aired in order due to various reasons including an episode being completed before another when multiple episodes were being worked on at the same time.

I'm going to just put this out here, so that it's somewhere before the revival is over, okay? I'm pretty sure Samurai Jack has a whole family in the future. With kids and everything - maybe even grandkids. Think about it, what point could jumping forward _50 years_ possibly serve to the story of Samurai Jack? It also creates an internal conflict, because going back in time erases them from existence.

That's cool to see Andy Suriano in this video, my old highschool teacher is cousins of Andy. Drew all the character designs of every show Genndy created and worked on. He even had an appearance in Dexter laboratory, who was Dexter bully? Something like that, called him Wolfboy because of Andy looks.
