Use a little pen torch to apply a little heat and that ill release the locktite. Sometimes you can heat the tip of a screwdriver very hot and just transfer heat to the screw (if you don't want to risk putting heat directly to a lock itself. Heat is your friend with locktite. It save on the drawing blood factor and it saves screwdrivers also.

Took bill with his nice calming voice to pick this lock within 20 minutes. Fairplay to bill. I have these locks on all my doors. I hope bill does not try to break into my house. As i would have to make him a cup of tea before he gets in. Thanks bill for letting me know these are good locks. Ive sent you a box of plasters.

This was the video that made me choose my exterior door locks. If BB takes that long to get in, it's very very difficult to pick by mere mortals. For your average light-fingered type, unpickable. If only the keys were nicer to look at than the black nylon bow.

Bill, I am a master technician. One of the tricks I learned to loosen bolts, screws and nuts, is to tighten what ever you are trying to break loose, just wait for a very slight movement in the wrong direction. After that the object will loosen much better.

Ahh yes, Credits are due to you sir! Not sure where or when I 'knew' this but my first realization of the theory involved attempting to enlighten someone with little to no common sense, about removing lug nuts on a wheel. Gauging by the # of 👍's you've received, not a whole lot of peeps in this industry have an abundance of common sense. WOW, and Purple Chrissy's opine was "5 years ago" . . . my how time flies. LockPickingLawyer deserves Credits where Due, for he is the reason I enjoyed BosnianBills video presentation (curious about the relationship the two have). I believe it is . . . BosnianBill is a very knowledgeable mentor from whom LockPickingLawyer has, over the years, learned a tremendous amount, among other collaborations through the relationship. May GOD Bless them both with an abundance of joy and be content with what they have contributed to mankind's security. Had one of these jam up on me in the unlocked position, the key would not turn past a certain point in either direction and was firmly stuck in the barrel, this key does not break as such it just keeps bending in all directions, luckily i learned that these locks can be snapped from the internal side so i snapped it and gave the remnants a swift blow with a hammer and drift and broke off the cam in order to extract the rest of the mechanism. I replaced with the same lock btw as they are really good overall.

If this was the thumb turn version, would it be still be susceptable to a Sparrow bypass tool that can turn the cam? Or is there something to prevent that on these 3 Star locks? I don't understand why standard thumb turn cylinders allow direct access to turn the cam 😲. Update: Seemed a bad idea, but realise that it serves a purpose on standard cylinders; allows the key to orientate the thumb turn ready for use.

@keirstitt8277
@keirstitt8277 6 жыл бұрын
Would be really useful to see a test. I'm worried that they look like the break line takes the whole front barrel with it, including pins. This is surely a vulnerability. Particularly when you've got front and back doors identically pinned. Snap off the back door cylinder, identify the size of the pins and sliders, make up a key. And your in. Hence most anti snap locks have the sacrificial break line a few mm back from the front of the lock, so you only get the first pin. Also so you can still get in with the front pin.

All our doors in our flats have these locks, and after watching it being picked, I was a bit alarmed at how easy it was, but then I have tot remember that this is Bosnianbill doing the picking. I have personal experience of what it takes to get through these UPVC doors with their multiple points of engagement and those locks. couple of years ago there was an unfortunate incident and a resident died in the flat and the police used their big iron 'key' they were banging on that door for ages, in fact for over 30 minutes it sounded like an earthquake. they did get in eventually the door, and frame were totally fubar and they actually secured the door till it was replaced with a chain and lock run from the railings opposite the door, as no other solid point remained. In hindsight either side of the door were two windows, which they could have put through in seconds.

How does that insert deter drilling? I'm gonna guess that is a abrasion resistant material. I'd imagine a blow torch and a well placed hammer blows into the fastener while hot would work if very desperate but you managed to gorilla it anyway. Never tried it on something that small but works wonders with other stuff. Although do so in a well ventilated area like outside, red loctite has some nasty stuff in it.

Controlled breaking (snapping) models are all similar, like the Abus Bravus. If you want the best cylinders available today they are: Abloy Protect 2, Dom Diamond and Keso 8000 Omega Premium. If you have one of these you are safe except if your door's frame is of wood instead steel, then do something against a lever attack

Yes, but it's pronounced Glen-MORR-an-jee (NOT Glen-morr-AN-Gee or Glen -morr-AN-jee). Takes its name from the place it's made.

Yale TS007 Platinum 3-Star .. I have just bought 2 of these key matched but I think not to many lock picking burglars out there the biggest risk is snapping, any body with a lever and a mole grip can snap a lock in a minute for that reason I was disappointed that the lock doesn't have a sacrificial section, these 2 locks cost me £120 and without seeing a video of someone trying to snap one I don't know the strength of the anti snap. It would have been interesting to have heard Bills opinion about this.

Would seeing the video of this lock being picked in 8 minutes deter you from buying these locks.

No because only people that have developed these skills like locksmiths etc can do this, my point here is any person with crude tools can snap a lock in less than a minute so for that reason I would like to see if it can done on the Yale***

As always Bill, thanks for the great video! A side note for you, and I will be completely understanding of those who may down-vote me. Just because people are so insane these days, you may consider muting, what to us, is clearly humor at 16:59. I know, I know. Just a thought, guys. Keep up the great work, Bill! I learn so much from you and so greatly appreciate all you do!
