@@sabbyd1832 thanks for your comments. We agree, it won’t appeal to everyone but for some buyers this will be perfect. For the scale and high quality finish of the property together with the extensive landscaping and gardens, the amount invested in the property must be pretty high so $10m looks very attractive to us.

There was a time when the rich had taste besides money. That resulted in the countless fine castles and country homes that litter the European landscape, and offer a lasting legacy of elegant living, to be enjoyed by future generations. This one looks like an amusement-park, only lacking a ferriswheel and rollercoaster. It is the exponent of "new money" who want it all, just to show off and not to enjoy. You can imagine those tenniscourts, pools, fitness-rooms etc. laying idle 99% of the time, the owners being either too busy or too obese to use them. There doesn't seem to be one place inside the house where the owner can relax after a hectic working day, with a glass of fine brandy, some soothing music, a book and the cat at his feet. Everything's made to impress, nothing to live in, and elegance is a notion of a bygone era.

I wouldn't live there but I would turn it into an all inclusive spa resort. Looks like a nice place to go relax for a few days.

@@castlesforsale it does have a good setup for that. The front entrance is big enough for a lobby, enough space to convert a couple rooms into a spa and salon, great looking gym room, lots of places to relax or play pool, and the grounds have that tropical resort look to them. It's a great property for the price and in a good area.

Thanks for your comments. Yes it’s a little bit different to most of the properties on our channel but when a ‘castle’ in America comes up for sale we can’t resist showing it to our audience. Don’t worry, the next video we have coming up is in Italy and almost the complete opposite.

It’s probably not to everyone’s taste but the attention to detail and landscaping of the grounds are exceptional so to the right buyer (and yes that could be someone using it as a wedding venue) it will be perfect. Incidentally we think it would be a pretty lucrative events or wedding venue so probably a good investment. Have a great day.

I agree 100%. I think the locals would love to see someone pay that much for a home here, so there home value goes up. I just don’t see that house being worth that much for this area. It’s so tacky looking, really an eye sore. Looks totally run down from the Road and out of place

Excuse my ignorance... Where in California is this located? A four bedroom shoebox is a million plus minimum in san Diego, LA, la Jolla, etc. In LA this house would be 30 million plus easy.

This is everything a castle isn't. No stained glass, no wood paneling, no elegant fireplaces, nor a dedicated library. This a modern, cold, office-inspired "castle." This is why it's priced what it is. Anyone that's ever been in a true castle knows this. Hearst. Biltmore, Bishop's Palaces, Boldt, any of the Vanderbilt's properties are castles.

Textbook illustration of what money is NOT for! Could be a public art museum or some charity research hospital or a monastery open to the public for a few days of needed R&R I suppose like many of the converted old castles of Europe have become monasteries or museums to share beauty with humanity…
