What was the total materials cost? ...a rough cost maybe on the "build it" vs "buy it" price is always appreciated
@WingWestfall
@WingWestfall 4 ай бұрын
I would say a rough number 2,500 -3,000. We did do a breakdown of which is cheaper to build vs buy. At the time purchasing one from Home Depot or Lowe’s was roughly 5,000-8,000. That would be for the shed already built and just needing to be delivered.

Great video and awesome shed, but next time paint with a mask. I'm almost 50 and you'll thank me later. Protect your lungs.

Plywood should have across the joist instead of with them

What type of roof felt did you use?
@WingWestfall
@WingWestfall 4 ай бұрын
This is what we layed on the roof and it was from home depot - WeatherLock G (200 Sq. Ft.) Granular Self-Sealing Ice and Water Shield Leak Barrier.

What was the pitch of the roof?
@WingWestfall
@WingWestfall 2 ай бұрын
We went with a 2/12 pitch roof. We learned that this is the minimum pitch for when using shingles.

Is there a place i could get measurements for all if this?

Here is a link to a website that gives you most of what we did. www.construct101.com/large-10x10-lean-to-shed-plans/ We used some of our own ideas in the process and added a shingle roof instead. But this website will give you a great idea on how we built this shed.

Are those eaves open to the environment and inside the shed? Id be worried about spiders and raccoons 😢
@WingWestfall
@WingWestfall 4 ай бұрын
Yes, unfortunately that was one thing we missed when building the shed! It's been on the to-do list. You definitely want to have those eaves filled in!

@WingWestfall do you have any other tips you'd be open to sharing? I'm building a 10x20 lean to shed soon for the first time and I'm willing to learn from others!

One thing to consider is the siding. For us, one side had a lip and the other side did not. So this is something you have to consider when adding up how much you will need, especially for the smaller cuts. The project felt like it was going to be more intimidating than it really was. Starting was the hardest part for us.

Every American family have a lot of expensive work tools? I see that in each video and to me is a bit strange...
@sevdetetcioglu413
@sevdetetcioglu413 4 ай бұрын
You can rent the tool at Home Depot or similar places easily. Hiring someone is very expensive so that some skilled and highly encouraged people are doing their reno. I am either skilled or encouraged so I am paying hourly wage + materials.
@WingWestfall

For us, it has been getting tools over a long period of time. As the needs grow the collection grows.

You pretty much need tools for all the repairs that come up throughout the year. A lot cheaper fixing/building things than to hire the jobs out..
@AmandaC123

Yes it’s common. Most homeowners have sheds or garages for doing projects. It’s so helpful.

Nice but you could of bought a shed from Home Depot or lowes/. And where is the electricity and plumbing. Enjoy your she shed
@WingWestfall
@WingWestfall 4 ай бұрын
When we decided to build we checked prices and it would have been almost double the price to buy from home depot/Lowe's. Also it's mostly a shed for our garden, so no electricity/plumbing for this build.
