Those were the best pickups ever built! If you kept the oil changed and the carburetor in good shape, they could last a half a million miles, than rebuild them and keep going.

Ive owned my 1964 F100 for 46 years and its still going stronger than ever. Simple rugged and easy to work on when necessary. Too bad todays trucks are nothing more than overcomplicated money pits.

the cab and bed were connected and if you had a wreck or put the frame in a bind you could not open the doors that was changed in 1964 (we had a 1964 f100) but the styling was just a tad better than dodge but not by much ......chevy was a better looking truck to me

Chevy trucks were always better looking, better design, better engineering better manufacturing better fit and finish

@@zephead4835 Tell that to my '65 C10.. went through 3 engines and 2 transmissions before it was given up on circa 1983. Those 60-66 Chevy trucks had no headliner and no option for one, I sure hope you like fawn or grey paint on the inside because that was the only factory option, only "door panel" was a painted white area if you bought the custom cab, no stainless steel trim on either doors or the inside roof, or the dash, no padded dashes, no available carpet, no available Bucket seats or console, Shall I continue? They were not higher trim or nicer at the time, and that's just the truth. The 61-66 Fords had all those things I mentioned, plus some. Oh and talk about a terrible cab design. The door weatherstrip is attached to the cab, not the door, so it doesn't self clean and it traps dirt and water on a lip the door jamb, then it's got a channel it slips in with no way to drain, rots out both inner and outer rockers even on the lucky ones. And under the cowl, the sheet metal seams near the corners have the lower panel on top of the upper, meaning water in the cowl always gets trapped at that seam, and they have no seam sealer so they rust constantly. Oh and Chevy was down nearly 20 HP, top V8 to top V8 compared to Ford in '65. The Chevy exterior design was unchanged '64-66. When you restore 60's trucks for a living, and dig into every detail of them, you really get to see who did more, and at least at that time, it sure as hell wasn't Chevy.

@@josephg41 I've got two GMT 400 trucks, a 91 and a 94. Both are 5.7's. I see 20 of those to every one Ford I see from the mid-90s. With Dodge it's more like a hundred to one, though I will admit those old square body Dodges with the Cummins turbo diesel engines are highly sought-after and very $$$.

@@zephead4835 I like how you're gonna just ignore what I said.. and start a new topic, since evidently you have no defence towards facts. Good job. But since you did, it depends on where you are in the country, where I'm at there's more Fords and Rams. And you have fun with your 4L60E'S.. since Chevy was the first to ditch manual trucks, you don't have many other choices. Ford and Dodge built a ton more manuals, particularly in the 90's.

@@unitedcity_mc4421 I watched the video again and yeah, it's just plain stupid. There are better ways to demonstrate an engine's durability then smashing it into a ?ucking wall.
