This show was an underrated masterpiece and aged like wine .

Extreme Ghostbusters is the most underrated cartoon of the 90's. Fantastic cast, smooth animation, and so much creativity that pushes boundaries. Fucking love it.

Fun Fact. The Mirror Demon was voiced by the late Glenn Shadix, who was involved in two movies by Tim Burton. He played Otho in Beetlejuice and voiced the mayor of Halloweentown in The Nightmare Before Christmas.

The Deadliners episode actually scared me quite a bit as a kid. It took three attempts for me to ever watch it when the show was airing reruns.

This show was FANTASTIC, and I watched both shows. This one got WAY more into the horror aspect, and having grown up from the original's run, I appreciated it. And it was still quite funny.

This show was straight up nightmare fuel. I actually remember it and mention Extreme Ghost busters to people as that one 90s hidden gem.

The child molester connotations of the grundel were intentional. It was the original cartoons way of teaching their audience about the everlasting harm such people do to their victims.

If Egon is really dead in the new Ghostbusters movie, would be cool to see the characters from Extreme appearing to pay their respects. They could even release a spin-off movie (or movies), focused on a more mature audience, with gore and all the crazy ghosts, with this same group.

I liked the original Ghostbusters series and the Extreme version both just fine. They both have their charms. And no one can change my mind on this.

This was so ahead of it’s time, and every now and then characters would curse too. Now that I think of it...around this time they had a very violent cartoon called mutant league. People would get limbs severed, and inners spilled. The trippy part is that this was one of the many morning cartoons at the time.

This was indeed a great, creepy cartoon. My son and I watched it when he was younger, during its original run.

In the RGB episode Luck Of The Irish, it was said that a Leprechaun sent a Boghound to kill off the O’Malleys since an ancestor of theirs stole his gold. It was never confirmed that this was the same leprechaun.

Loved this show when it was on, it definitely had a much more creepy vibe to it than it's predecessor. Real Ghostbusters could do creepy, but did a lot of comical and even whimsical ghosts and stories ( like they guy that made a deal with demons to get rid of chickens). I just wish extreme had had a few more callback episodes like Grundlesque. In my area it had a really bad showtime being an early weekday morning cartoon rather than the afterschool or Saturday morning timeslots. I remember there being a few good shows that I never really got to watch much of because they started when I had to be getting ready for school or were way earlier than i was usually willing to get up on a weekday.

Underrated gem is right, i wished it was picked up again.

The Deadliners episode and the clown episode was one of the most terrifying episodes I've seen since I was a kid. I still get creeped out by the Deadliners episode and I'm 34 now.

This show was my introduction to Ghostbusters as a kid and I loved it. Kylie is still my favorite character in the franchise.

The studio that made this are really good at creating nightmare monsters in all their shows.

I would have also included the Pied Piper from episode 12 (or 11? I can't quite remember) That dude was seriously creepy, especially in his transformed state.

Each Ghost, Demon and monster in this show has such well fleshed out lore, their premises alone could make entire films. That's honestly amazing.

Extreme Ghostbusters was the ghostbusters show that I had in my childhood, THE REAL ghostbusters was apparently around too but I never seemed to catch any episodes of it. EGB was the perfect mix of edgy, drama, comedy and horror with a tiny sprinkling of nostalgia though maybe more for beloved fans of the predecessor show when (I believe it was the) final season featured the original ghostbusters or some of them coming out of retirement and helping the new team or teaching them a few things while also learning stuff as well. It was the typical thing where the show that is loved by many but eventually whether it is the stupidity of moving it over to a less convenient time slot so that something new would be put in its place which usually was something terrible only for them to just let both shows die in the end. Or they did not see the desired return on investment i.e. toy sales to allow funding of the show to continue. Either way it is a show that should never have been cancelled and to this day from memory a similar show thus far has never come out .

Extreme Ghostbusters was such a treat for me when I was a kid... The only thing I didn't like was the tacked on"extreme" bit on the name.They should have just called it the only worthwhile Ghostbusters sequel you're ever going to get. So much cool stuff happened on that show from the time they took on the FBI (basically Men in Black) to the time 👻Slimer messed things up so bad he almost got Eduardo killed in the containment unit and so many other things that I've totally forgotten by now... Extreme Ghostbusters is the only reason I bought the very affordable 4disc set of Godzilla (the series)cuz it was made by the same crew, it has some of that same magic.🤘👻🎸

I love all Ghostbusters movies & shows! (Except Slimer & The Real Ghostbusters & the 2016 movie).

I always wondered about the Poltergeist that was always seen in the beginning where the them song began. I remember him from Real Ghostbusters. He never really appeared as an episode in Extreme Ghostbusters, but you always saw him in every episode. Sam Hayne also appeared every time, too.

A very well done follow-up to "The Real Ghostbusters". I really enjoyed this sequel series and much appreciated its darker and more frightening villains. A very worthy successor to the original.

God the vatheck made me feel terrified to be alive as a kid and still influence my fears today. A show that was really ahead of it's time.

This show is still the best. I love the characters (I still do now) and the monsters freaked me out as a child. I formed a phobia of clowns thanks to the killer clown episode. And I always had to run away before the credits show up because it really scared me. My brothers turned the volume to its maximum so I could hear it when I was hiding ...It made me crie :') I can laugh about it now tho. Good times, good times.

The character of the leprechaun is actually based on the leprechaun film franchise. The vampire clowns were loosely based on Pennywise. There are other monsters that get their origins from horror films.

When I was a kid I had the first season of the Real Ghostbusters and the first season of the Extreme Ghostbusters on DVD, both were fantastic.

Achira, Tenebraug, Tempus and the Wishgiver are all personal favourites of mine - each one was a formidable threat and had a great design! Others worth mentioning would include the Jersey Devil, Luko from "The Infernal Machine" and Lotan from "Moby Ghost".

If only they did a DTV movie that acts as a continuation and finale to this series

I felt the tone of this was closer to the films than RGB, but that also makes sense because it was just a different time. Regardless, both The Real and Extreme Ghostbusters are two of my favorite cartoons. Getting up at 5am to was EGB and getting out of school to catch RGB on Fox Family? *chef's kiss*

Vampire Clowns was my very first exposure to the Ghost Busters franchise. I was pretty young when I first saw it, probably still in kindergarten then.
