This is a review of my new (to me) 2008 Ford Mustang Bullitt. Built as a throwback to the 1968 Mustang that was featured in the movie "Bullitt", this 2008 Mustang GT (technically this is a "GT" with the "Bullitt" package) has a few more tricks up it's sleeve than a standard GT from it's era: 315 horsepower vs 300 on the standard GT, Bullitt-specific springs, and a stouter 3.73:1 rear axle ratio are just a few of the items that set this special edition Mustang apart from it's brothers and sisters.

I bought one new and still have it! Very easy to work on and it's been very reliable. I can tell you that the factory tires give the best all around ride they're a great balance of comfort and sport. They did a redesign on the tires so they look different than the ones that came from the factory they look better than the oem ones.

Definitely an aftermarket exhaust. Sounds nice! One just popped up on an auto site I browse that's local. Thinking about looking at it, but my mustang guru tells me stay away from the 4.6 unless it's a Shelby which I can't buy lol.

Yeah I think it sounds decent. Others say the actual Bullitt exhaust is more throaty. The 4.6 is built like a tank. Although it isn't the fastest engine out there. There's plenty of mods that can be done to wake it up though. Couldn't hurt to check it out! The more the better.

I just picked up a 2008 Bullitt just like this with 69,000 miles on it for 10,500 here in Wisconsin. Very clean car. I love the interior.

From what I have read between 2008-2009 only 1,607 black Bullitts were produced. I have #5204

I was sitting on the fence and I feared someone was gonna snatch this up if I didn't make a move. So many times I sat on a good deal only to have someone come in and take it from me. Lol

Well that’s the thing. My gf found the car monday while I was at work and we set it up for Tuesday to view it. It was a 2h30m drive from where I live. Car was actually located in Illinois. Well I figured it seems worth going to check it out. So we took a drive. Ended up buying it on the spot. I’ve viewed 5 cars and they all were rusty. This one has been taken care of. I couldn’t let it slip.

You guys are making me feel like I got a steal. 33k for 14500. 2 owners first owner owned it from new untill 2018 then second owner for like a year then it sat at this dealership.

Just bought the Black one. I did a lot of research on these cars. I love it! Those muffler tips or Mufflers aren't stock.

Yeah I've come to realize that they aren't the originals. Which is a bummer. I actually traded this car awhile back on a 2019 Mustang GT Performance Pack 2. The Bullitt was great though! A classic throwback to a throwback! I hope you enjoy yours to the fullest!

Your exhaust or at least tips are aftermarket. I just bought a 2008 black bullit with 34k on it for 14,500. So stoked. Mine had a fender bender also nothing big. I drove my 2002 saleen for 11 years daily driver this is her replacement.

Preston those exhaust tips are definitely wrong for the Mustang Bullitt they should be chrome and straight out with baffling holes in them, yours doesn't sound quite right, One upgrade you might consider is a Hurst or similar short throw shifter night and day difference so glad I changed mine, no more missing 3rd gear now

That exhaust is definitely wrong I own a 2008 Black bullitt as well, I changed the exhaust out to SLP loudmouths increases the sound a little bit it doesn't have a drone, and they sound fantastic, I also added the Ford racing 62 mil throttle body, Ford racing intake, and I also put in ignition coils, and also change out the stick shift because it was a bit sloppy on the track, and installed the Barton stick shift, this completely changed the characteristic of the car makes it a lot more exciting to drive beautiful for Street driving if you just want to cruise, but yeah absolutely great cars low maintenance easy to work on I did also add the Ford racing valve covers in blue which really looks great.

The lights and the mufflers look different. I also have the black version with the child booster seat.

The headlights were the optional HID headlights. And the previous owner had swapped out the exhaust for these.

Yes that is not the original Bullitt exhaust however it sounds similar to mine. Also my 2008 does not have HID lights

Yeah, I was always wondering, if not the original Bullitt exhaust, what exhaust was it? I think the mufflers had ford emblems on them. So, perhaps it was just a standard GT exhaust? And on the HID lights, I heard that some had them and some didn't. It was an awesome little car. I just had bigger aspirations at the time and ended up trading it on a 2019 Mustang GT Performance Pack 2, that I also no longer own.

Either 5w-30 or 5w-20 synthetic depending on how cold it gets where you live.

Glad to see a child seat in the back. Any idea how well a rear facing seat would fit in the back?

I would say in the passenger side you might be able to fit a tiny person in front and they wouldn’t be very comfortable but definitely wouldn’t work on the driver side.

You’re also missing the proper stock Bullitt exhaust. It has stock exhaust from a regular GT.

My guess is they found a stock GT exhaust cheap and replaced it when it was wrecked. Not sure how a small impact in the front would cause the exhaust to need to be replaced though. ?????? Thanks for watching!

The Not So Ordinary Car Guy the stock mufflers are easier to come by in need of replacement. The Bullitt folk think the mufflers are worth $500 when I just picked up a set of stock Bullitt mufflers for $100. Mufflers you have are fine but doesn’t give you that sound you want.

I’d say offer $13k and work your way up. Hopefully meet at $14k. If it’s in good shape for 30k mi.

You are missing the front lower grill. Its about a 70.00 part and is easy to lose.

Unfortunately I traded it in several months ago on a 2019 Mustang GT with the Performance Pack 2 option. It's not the way I would have wanted to see it go but I could not pass up the deal I was getting. It was a great car!
