This is not a vlog. Consider it a bonus video that I happened to have time to compile and put up as a bit of extra footage. There's no music, no commentary, no captions - this is all deliberate. It's just the canal views and the "music" of the wildlife and the engine.
These scenes were filmed on the Staffordshire and Worcestershire canal earlier in the year - around about the end of May I think (see my vlogs 103, 105 & 106 for the vlog version with commentary)

@@dianemorris6904 Hi Dianne, I am Michael, I am in the upper hunter, drought, fires now a virus. During the peak of the drought I had wallabies helping with the lawn each night. I still have the cattle opposite so different type of countryside but still peaceful. I am looking at retiring to the canals they are so peaceful.

Excellent way to spend 15 minutes on a Friday morning in Wisconsin. I love these “not a vlogs”. It gives the true nature of just how great it must be to cruise the cut with the scenery and the wild life. Thanks for taking me along. Enjoyed our cruise this morning! So peaceful and beautiful. I enjoy seeing the boats and the beautiful homes canal-side. Love the anglers who wait until the absolute last second to move their lines...they have that down pat!

Just watched this after a grueling 18 hour shift in a noisy smelly factory and which has no windows. And believe it or not, viewing this has done me the power of good. Tomorrow is my day off and I have decided to go and walk along this very section of canal, it is but a few miles from where I live. Many thanks. David in Dudley.

I have got a chance to watch this on a 4K television, and you have no idea how BEAUTIFUL these sceneries are, the fact that it was shot in 1080p ultra wide format. Like my mum said "It's so sharp you can count the leaves!!"

I would like to make a recommendation if it doesn’t already exist “Adopt a canal”. Here in the US it isn’t uncommon to find stretches of highway that have been “adopted” by some group that assumes responsibility for cleaning up sections of highway. The local department of transportation will even post a sign with the name of the group. The canals in this video look great but for all those areas that are overgrown making them difficult to navigate, some volunteer TLC would go a long way instead of waiting for the CRT to get around to it on their limited budgets.

Loved the footage...the other boats, especially the fisherman, all the bridges...and that House right in the middle of the canal....and those sheer rock faces were awesome......the engine sounded like "The African Queen" I was expecting a Bogart Impression at the end...Thanks for the ride along.

It's good sometimes just to hear the motor and the boat cutting through the water , i saw fish swirling under the water and jumping out , those fishermen we saw are in the wrong area , are there a lot of fish in the canals :-)

It's a pleasure to watch the little self-propelled fluff balls that were the ducklings and cygnets in spring grow into recognizable birds over the summer now swimming with confidence and purpose. And in any of the vids it is equally pleasurable to watch the ducks in flight, wings thrashing away and turning and sometimes just bulleting along like little fighter planes compared to the cranes and swans. The best part is their full-stall landings into a foot or two of water skiing on their feet before they settle to a rapid stop in the water. Thanks for sharing all this, David. You've no idea what a service you are performing for all of us who are either locked down or isolating for various reasons during this pandemic, lad. I'll call you lad because today is my 74th birthday. Don't take it too hard, Mr. almost fifty. *;- )* Cheers from Canada
