The purpose of Devoid is to spread color pie diversity through the Eldrazi while also keeping them as "colorless" creatures. So in the instance of Sowing Mycospawn, you can see he clearly has green oriented abilities, but he's also Devoid, meaning he's not actually green, he's colorless. His kicker ability harkens to this with the colorless ("devoid" as you were calling it) mana pip. The main benefit is that by being Devoid, they evade things that affect colored permanents, such as protection from their color identitys. Or even serve to be beneficial such as in the cases of All is Dust or Ugin, the Spirit Dragon's minus ability. Since they are Devoid, they aren't affected by those abilities. Important to note that while Devoid says the creature lacks color everywhere, a given colored pip will still create a color identity for the purposes of building your commander decks. So you'll want to play one of those Eldrazi with all five colors in the cost or in the ability, such as Ulalek or Azlask to make sure you can play all those fun Devoid creatures.

card text over writes rule while in play. so if a card is 2G ,while your casting it and it's on the stack its green. then when it comes into play it's devoid. so not green anymore, anything that would specifically destroy a green permanent cant target it.

So a lot has happened last year around this time. My ex-girlfriend that I did the booster packs battle with, she passed away. She had heart failure and it finally took her life. May rest in peace. So it's been a while since I've seen your videos, but I watch this one. And it was nice to see another one of your videos. I love your content and I was wondering if I could get a special request.
