I usually practice this move on ice. However, I do this as a relax exercise. How I do this is make a flat hand prayer and place it on the chest. This will help with posture. Then take off on the one foot glide. Instead of placing the arms at a T, I place them to the side, relaxing the shoulders. After a few weeks of this exercise, I found that my back muscles started to develop. I was not wobbling from side to side, back and forth as much. But this is a good exercise to start off with when getting on the ice.

Do you keep the weight of the body on the back of the blade?

Some views Oleg, have you ever skated on a natural lake or pond? This a great tutorial, I have a ridiculously weak left leg and I struggle to shift the weight to my weak side, the zipper tip is very handy. Thank you 🙏🏼 ⛸

I wonder should I bend more on my gliding foot or straight while doing this?

This video is very helpful. I'm still trying to make my one foot glides (both forward and backward) better by shifting my weight on the skating leg. Do I need to slightly bend my knee? I'm also trying to do one-foot glides in a circle. You are right when you mentioned about off-ice training. I strength train at the gym at least twice a week. It really does make my body stronger and prepared for falls on the ice. Thank you Oleg. Looking forward to practicing again soon. Please continue to share skating tips.

It’s very hard to see leg positions and knee positions when all black is worn. Can you wear other colours? Thanks

Hi Liz, I wear more form fitting pants now. Should be easier to see. Though I might wear my hot pink skating pants I got as a joke gift lol.

@@sydney5630 but my coach said that it's because I'm not centered enough... we need to keep a nice center of gravity so it wont turn... I think I slowly learned it when I was working on the crossover... I hope that helps...
