Beautiful ring. I ordered the nail art abalone recently to make teardrop earrings. It was quite a bit more fiddley than I thought it would be. I wasn’t happy with the results so, I’ll try again. The ring process seems to be much quicker. You’ve definitely figured out a great way to do them. Thanks for the tutorial Daniel.❤

@Daniel Cooper I can see why it was very exciting to see you do it, and you could tell you were excited about making the ring. It is absolutely beautiful. Also, did you get my message? I left you about the black alcohol ink, I found not only the pair with the white and black but also just black alone, so I know you're always using it. I thought it would be helpful. I know you were looking for a larger bit, and you got that set that had the multiple small bottles, but this one is 4 ounces, just like your other ink from let's resin. 😀

That's awesome. Once of got my new creation centre finished I'll be trying more complicated or just fun to create stuff like this and once I work out why my phone is compacting all my videos into old fashioned box type view. Not sure if it's my phone video settings or it's my "you cut app" video editor that's changing the view after editing. I stupidly did two really good in-depth videos that wasn't over 30 mins each one was only 21 minutes which is brilliant for me and so I had them to put on my utube channel whilst working on my new creation centre. But I went to post one yesterday and if all so small even with my pixel phone and being able to make it full screen is unbearable I couldn't dare post it or the better one after absolutely peed right off as originals had to be deleted to make room in data for the finished product and making simple videos whilst I'm doing important prep work. But when everything is done new work areas and two large peg boards on the wall above with all my stuff organised so say let's resin alcohol inks are in one peg board box. Then a different set of inks, mica, glitters you know the list goes on with stuff we buy to try etc. So when doing a video I can have a clutter free work area with a few pegboard boxes/buckets are to my side the desired colours are set Infront of me ready to use and mixing containers from most yoghurt pots and similar a few silicone (don't rate them the small ones yes big ones not so much . Inaccurate and to flexible really. Too bought small handled with pouring tip like you used in this video types ready to use) and bought plastic one use but they can be cleaned or left to dry and used again with caution 😉. And everything else ready to hand but still be clutter free . Mentally it makes me make mistakes that I shouldn't be 18 in 😮😢🙆🤦🧘. And a better angle for my camera so people can see better. Also setting up my desk lamp and ring light using camera shading, reflection cloth I purchased so I don't get those horrid reflections in the resin I'm working on which can make it impossible on video to see what I'm actually doing..... My dad would say get everything set up as is best for you and your needs not another and you'll work will improve and you'll feel more relaxed in doing the job in hand. I totally agree if there is chaos all around you then only chaos will be the result... What do other say. If I knock anything over again then run round like a headless chicken trying to clean up whilst worrying about the piece I'm working on I swear it's getting launched so for now it's UV I can do on my lap with a tray to keep me busy until I can buy my supplies and create my new 100% level work area plus storage above and for big stuff and molds underneath in a metal drawered filling cabinet that will go under my working area with the resin drawer being lined with a heavy duty bin bag and then cardboard inside that for soaking up any missed dribbles . I shall be a very happy, centred resin creator again making beautiful stuff like I can 🎉😉👌🫶🤞💪👊🥂🥳

Absolutely stunning, Daniel! 💕😊 Idea: paint background with black acrylic, let dry, glue in your shells/stones, coat with clear UV resin. Or, use black UV resin as background? Would that work, or not as well as the way you did it? Now I'm wondering...!

Thanks, the trouble is, I wanted the pieces to be hugged by the black resin otherwise they would have looked elevated in the ring 😊

I figured out something to be able to do the smaller ring sizes. I bought a mandrel (ring sizer) and it fits nicely in the end of the turner tube. To keep it and the ring tight, I trimmed one of my silicone mats just big enough to hold the ring on and the mandrel in. The mandrel is plastic and light and extremely inexpensive, maybe $7 here in the states. Just wanted to share this with you, I've spent the whole day making the rings for family, I had so much fun. Luv your channel! ❤💛💚💙💜🌈🌠

Possibly, not sure if that would effect the glue?

I've bitten the bullet and ordered the cup turner, the last ring I made I cured in hand. I'm hoping this will make it a lot easier!

Love your work and appreciate your videos. Quick question. Can you use glass frit instead of the shells? Have you ever tried it?

It might be an idea to use acrylic paint to add the black then wipe it off this should leave the black in gaps. Then resin at the end. May be quicker. Looks beautiful though.

Just ordered an abalone shell. It is going to kill me to break it up! But if I get as good a result as you it will be worth it!

It is quite hard to come to terms with at 1st, I felt awful 😖 But so worth it to know what can be made from it.

Hi Daniel thanks for this brilliant article I am going to try it, but I have smaller rings that won’t fit on my cup turner rod, any idea how I can modify it to take smaller ring sizes ? Thanks 😊

A viewer mentioned a plastic ring Mandrel, I used my wife's marcara stick, it fit perfect with some tape to hold it as backup 😂

Hi Daniel I’ve got my shells ready to use & wondering if it would be easier to colour the glue black before putting chips on. Also another thought was to use uv nail polish before hardening to do the same thing but appreciate the lamp wouldn’t penetrate 🤔💕🦆

Colored glue may work, will depend on the color used though as may interfere with the adhesion.

Love this * going to have a go... I'm a total noob but Wouldn't it be a better way to resin the background & put the shell ontop?

You can but I wanted the shell to be surrounded 😁

Ok, I’ll think of something, I’ve already ordered the shell. Is it difficult to break? Would appreciate suggestions. I have a few different types of hammers, regular hammers, small hammers, and a couple different jewelry hammers.

@hislambcreations I just kept mine in the packaging and hit with a small hammer, then used my jewelry pliers to snap smaller if needed 😊
