I like investing in close-end funds that pay monthly dividends. The trick is to hold long term and reinvest the monthly dividends plus buy more shares on a monthly basis or whenever you can afford to. This can be easily done because close-end funds are bought and sold on the stock market just like regular stock. That’d be enough to create a portfolio that would pay you between $50k to $70k in dividend income

Dividends are dope. Personally, I sometimes use my dividends to buy other dividend and growth stocks for diversification instead of reinvesting in the same stock. To each their own methods though. The good thing is that you’re investing in the first place and that’s what’s important. Salute for the content!

The market is not necessarily a rollercoaster if you know your way around the market, there are various opportunities in the present market to accrue good profit, If you are not too savvy with the market, just buy and hold on strong companies with good earnings, or consult with advisors on ETFs and actively managed funds. that’s what works for my spouse and I. We've made over 30% capital growth minus dividends.

For me, I had my share of ups and downs when I first started looking for a consistent passive income so I hired an expert advisor for aid, and following her advice, I poured $30k in value stocks and digital assets, Up to 200k so far and pretty sure I'm ready for whatever comes.

The thing to me is, if you invest and have other income outside of dividends then you will be able to live off dividends without selling. Which means you can pass that on to your kids which will give them a leg up in life. $52k dividends received in 2022.

Yeah, financial advisors could make a lot of difference, particularly in a market such as this. Stocks are pretty unstable at the moment, but if you do the right math, you should be just fine. I think there are a lot of wealth transfer in this downtime if you know where to look. I have been using an FA since 2019, and I return at least $21k ROI, and this does not include capital gain.

I have a 3 fund portfolio consisting of 33% S&P, 33% Total stock, and 33% international. Even with the right technique and assets some investors would still make more than others. As an investor, you should've known that by now that nothing beats experience and that's final. Dividends are a great thing, but they’re only really effective for passive income when you either have somewheres over 20 to 25 thousand shares of a high yielding stock. Meaning you likely need to have a few hundred thousand if not more invested in it. Re-investing dividends back into the same stock certainly does snowball with compound interest, but you only really start seeing it after 20 years of never stopping and likely needing to add additional money of your own with it….so it’ll be time consuming and costly. The way I see it if you have a million dollars at some point, that’d be enough to create a portfolio that would pay you between 50 to 70 thousand in dividend income

Stocks are pretty unstable at the moment, but if you do the right math, you should be just fine. Bloomberg and other finance media have been recording cases of folks gaining over 250k just in a matter of weeks/couple months, so I think there are alot of wealth transfer in this downtime if you know where to look.

This is essentially how I invest, though I'm a bit short for March/June, etc. months and I have a lot more than 12 positions. There are come inaccuracies in this video. I own MO, CTO, and ABR. MO pays in January, ex in Dec. CTO goes ex and pays in Dec. ABR went ex and paid in November. Thanks for pointing me to AHH to research, perhaps MORT & BIZD. Tend to shy away from ETFs for income (have some sector-specific ETFs for growth) because the payout is irregular. Maybe these two are different. Happy New Year.

Problem is, only around 3 of these go up over time. Most if not all have been on down trends, so even though you get a dividend the principle will deteriorate over time and you'll most likely just be even. Am I wrong?

Stocks are pretty unstable at the moment, but if you do the right math, you should be just fine. Bloomberg and other finance media have been recording cases of folks gaining over 250k just in a matter of weeks/couple months, so I think there are a lot of wealth transfer in this downtime if you know where to look.

Checking the pay dates for these twelve stocks and they do not deliver as promised. Their pay dates often occur right on top of each other. MED (2/7) and DKL (2/9). SAR (3/30) and CTO (3/31). Both BIZD and MORT had the same payout dates in 2023 (4/10, 7/7, 10/6, and 12/30).

Unless I missed something there are like 16 weeks in 2024 that would not have a payout. There are at least nine weeks with two and even three stocks paying out. The only months that pay out correctly in 2024 with these stocks are May, August, and November (MED, DKL, NHTC, ABR).

I was going to research this tactic, you beat me to the punch, but saved me time. I will do my due diligence, and research each individual companies. To see what potential they have. Once gain, thank you for saving me alot of time. I started late in life in investing, I don't think I will be able to enjoy these seeds you helped me plant. But my descendants surely will.

High dividends can be a danger sign. Most of these securities have been in at a 2 year downturn. The earnings do not cover the dividends on many of them which means potential dividend cuts and more downward pressure. Analysts are stating that the securities are overvalued at these prices. The Dividends may be attractive, but the gains in dividends may be wiped out by capital losses. These do not look like secure long term investments at this time. Do your homework before buying.

Because of dividends, I first began investing in stocks. It's important, in my opinion, to be able to live off of dividends without selling if you invest and make other income in addition to payouts. It suggests that you may pass that down to your kids and give them a leg up in life. Over the years, I've invested over $600k in dividend stocks; I continue to buy more today and will keep doing so until the price drops even further.

The main goal of this strategy is payout. So, the drop due to dividend payout will be offset in the long run by the capital appreciation of the stock.

Only one I wouldn't consider in my portfolio - EURN. They have not consistently paid a dividend every quarter, in fact, I believe they didn't pay one single dividend payment in the entire year of 2022 and the first part of 2023.

I'd be very careful if you consider copy pasta with this portfolio. Just a quick glance at the financials for most of the individual stocks screams incoming dividend cuts. Make sure you do your due diligence before buying any stocks or ETFs so that you don't end up losing your shirt. Usually 7%+ indicates an unsustainable dividend yield with a few exceptions. Arbor looks legit as an income play and MO and SAR look like they'll be fairly stable but past performance does not guarantee future performance.

If you are reselling, then it's break even. If you are holding it for more than a year, you will realize capital gains.

Your picks are very risky. I have both BDCs and mREITs in my portfolio but only a small position. BDCs and mREITs are very interest rate sensitive. Yes, I agree your portfolio is high yield but at the expense of being very volatile.

@@andrewmorales5485 Depends on the stocks you buy and the yield. If I understand you currectly 1800 total shares in the 12 stocks would give you 150 stocks of each. Then you just need to calculate the stocks dividend by 150 and do that for all 12 stocks and you know the dividned. The dividend is the same nomatter what the price of the stock is. Unless the company behind the stock decides to lower the dividend which is more likely to happen on higher dividend paying stocks.
