I use to breed and show Miniature Schnauzers. They ate Thompsons seedless grapes, ice cream, chocolate and afew other things listed here. Guess what, all of my dogs lived to be 16 and 17 years old. No they didnt have a steady diet of this stuff but they did get to enjoy it from time to time.

I've seen dogs eat way worse stuff... including poop THey are fine. Dog lived along humans for thousands of years, eating human food, and yet we think dog food is good for them, but it is so unhealthy and only been around for the last hundred years. Some have so many preservatives that it can have a shelf live of up to 25 years.

You'll love your baby!! Please don't feed it people food, because Schnauzers have delicate tummies and are prone to pancreatic problems if given people food. Ask your Vet about which food it should be on and which snacks they recommend. Stick to those only. Diarrhea and/or vomiting indicate trouble so get them to the vet quickly! They are the sweetest doggies in the world!!

Wow.. I couldnt believe hearing all this. I knew grapes and chocolate. But my miniature schnauzer has eaten many of these things, thankfully hasnt gotten sick or worse so poor doggy bye bye treats.

our schnoodle likes cucumbers, carrots, apples, and raw potatoes/turnups...he used to like radishes but ends up spitting them out after a couple of pieces (upset stomach) he's more than happy to eat veggies...

Please DON'T feed your dog any potatoes - White potatoes belong to the nightshade family of vegetables, which includes tomatoes; like tomatoes, raw potatoes contain solanine, a compound that is toxic to some dogs. However, cooking a potato reduces the levels of solanine. If you do feed your dog a potato, it should be peeled, then baked or boiled, with nothing added to it. Please be sure to do your research.

Ice cream is fine, as long as it isnt made with animal milk (cow milk/goat milk...), I get my buddy Oatly vanilla non-dairy frozen desert, and it's a great treat after a walk on a hot day. Another great treat on a hot day is frozen veggies like peas and carrots. I also add frozen veggies to his meals occasionally. Whole carrots also make a fun chew toy

Any piece of Pork especially ham can cause pancreatic failure in any dog but small dogs are more prone. One small ham bone that my schnauzer got without my knowledge almost killed her. As soon as I saw her vomit white foam not sure what that meant but raced her to the Veterinarians office. He informed me that foamy vomit is life threatening and means their pancreas has or is failing. She survived and died of old age. However I still cringe when I think how my one careless act of not immediately throwing away a small ham bone on a plate left on the table almost ended her life. She wasn't allowed on the table but any dog can be tempted to investigate when smells are so inviting and people have left the room cleaning up. If you can't carry everything make sure to take pork bones with you. One time can kill your dog.

Agree! My miniature schnauzer nearly died from pancreatitis caused by eating a bit of ham. She had to be treated by the emergency vet and be kept there until she got better. They said never give a mini schnauzer pork.

@@tmoneyy1516 the earth provides many things that can make You sick, like the mushrooms that grow in your yard. Please dont eat those mushrooms, also please don't let your dog eat Any mushrooms. Tomatoes are a fruit that can make your dog very sick, they are part of the nightshade family, and a known poison to many animals. Potatoes are a vegetable in that same nightshade family. both fruits and vegetables that came from the earth can be bad. Please do more research.

We recently found out our food sharing was hurting our mini Schnauzer. We typically gave him cheese. But would give him some chicken on his breakfast like chicken nuggets. Now we give him this salmon and potatoe food because that’s what the vet said he should eat because of food allergies and he’s doing better

Schnauzers have a genetic predisposition to pancreatitis. Mine has had 2 bad bouts of it so she's now eating a low fat diet. I also give her a wonderful supplement called Bernie's Perfect Poop.😂 It absolutely has changed her digestive system and health.

Milk is actually good for dogs. If your dog has bad breath, it’s because they have yeast/ bad bacteria overgrowth in their stomach. Milk gets consumed by the bad bacteria / yeast, making the yeast separate from the gut lining and then getting flushed out of the body as diarrhea. Feed your dog milk each day until the diarrhea ends. Usually you will notice by the next day that the bad breath has gone away. Also, wet dog food creates a perfect t environment for yeast to grow, you gotta be careful.

my pup is fine with stuff like Oatly vanilla non-dairy frozen dessert - but if you give your pup dairy they might get stomach cramps, bloating, and diarrhea. I know that if I even give my pup a cube of cheese, no matter how good it tastes, it might hurt him. Steer clear of ice cream made with animal milk, and you should be good.

I give my schnoodle dog, vanilla ice cream in the pass. She’s still living. Only give her small amount of ice cream. She rarely eats ice cream anymore.

I feed mine jalapeno inside some meat. I also like to feed him Vietnamese hot peppers inside some meat too. I laugh when he starts choking.😅 Because I secretly hate my dog.

ICE CREAM is ok, just give it in small amounts. dogs are lactose intolerant. milk chocolate in small doses , one or two tiny squares, once in a while is ok, too. Just DO NOT LET DOGS HAVE BAKERS CHOCOLATE or high ratio dark chocolate. per vets.

this def wasnt scare mongering. although it was robot speak, and too many mispronounced words, which I found very scary. This was good info that many ppl should know about. I remember getting my pup last summer and doing SO much research on what he can and cant eat... Its called good parenting.
