My high school speech teacher told us to never apologize at the beginning of a speech. An example would be, "I don't do this very often, please bear with me." People will look for you to make mistakes. That has carried me a long way in life.

Same but I also feel like saying just and sorry makes you sound a bit more polite and not as maybe pushy or arrogant. Like the example Brittany gave of -“thank you for thinking of me but I can’t go”, lol if I were the person who invited you and you said JUST that without the sorry I don’t know if I would feel a certain type of way. 😂 I think I would appreciate the “sorry” before the rest of the sentence lol 🤷🏻‍♀️😂

The sorry one is SO GOOD! I tell people all the time the don’t need to apologize, when they do, if it’s not their fault. I see so many people be surprised and touched when I tell them this because it’s like they realize, “hey this person is so empathetic and I didn’t do anything wrong” 💗💗💗

You're so right about the words "just" and "sorry"! Many years ago, I was taught that the use of these words, especially in the business world, shows a lack of confidence. It took a huge effort to stop using them. Being mindful is the first step. You'll be stunned at how often you use them! Ordering that telescoping tub cleaner NOW! After 4 major back surgeries, I need it and $13 for it is a bargain! Thanx for all the great tips, decor, organization and cleaning videos. I love them and it's made my life so much better!!!

The saying “just” and “sorry” was one of my favorites. Sometimes when people almost run into me walking through the city I say sorry even though it’s not my fault. Hi B, Love your channel, so informative and helps with real life issues that drive people crazy. Also, instead of saying "I need" something, say "I want" something. When we say "I need" something, it puts us in a co-dependent perspective. When we say "I want" something, it puts us in a self empowerment perspective. Many blessing to you and your family. Take all the love and kindness that people give you and channel that into your labor and delivery. Luvs!

Yes to eliminating "just & sorry"!! I've actually been working on that after I realized that a few years ago. I'd always start emails with "Just checking in...", "Just my opinion...". I also work to not use just when describing things: "I just ran a mile" --> "I ran a mile. Go me!" "I just have a masters" --> "I have a masters. I worked hard to earn it". Don't diminish things or accomplishments by using just.

I LOVE the confidence hack!! I definitely fall into apologizing and using words like “just” to avoid coming off as harsh or whatever and I need to stop. There’s nothing wrong with being assertive!

Also resist saying “you’re welcome”. Instead say “happy to help” or “my pleasure” when appropriate.

Personally, I love both. But since I work in a call centre, 100% of the boomer generation personally take offence when you don’t say “you’re welcome”.

Most of the time I will say "You're welcome" There's nothing wrong with saying that. But sometimes when someone thanks me for helping them with something, I will say "Glad to be able to help you." I've had people say "My pleasure" when I have thanked them.

You wont be disappointed. Oxo make them, I got one a year ago for my walk in shower and it's made cleaning it a cinch. You can get spare pads too.

We have a shower over our bath, so I quickly spray it all over then squeegee down the tiles and glass after a shower. They stay cleaner for longer between proper cleans as A) we have hard water (limescale deposits build up otherwise) and B) There's no window in the bathroom for decent ventilation (bacteria and mold minimised too!) It also makes it quicker&easier to deep clean too 💗 I think I got the squeegee tip from "Clean My Space" who I LOVE for tough cleaning jobs solutions, and stain removal tips (and then some!) You may like them too 🙂

Like many others leaving the "just and sorry" out of my vocabulary makes a huge difference. It actually makes me have anxiety if I don't say "just or sorry". That's scary to think that I can only speak if I use those words first. Huge eye opener

Love you!!! I am fairly new to your channel and I have loved every single one of the videos that I’ve seen!!! You are different from so many others because you don’t start off saying, “Make sure you like this video” or “Please subscribe”, etc., etc. I love that you jump right in and keep it moving. It’s obvious that your first priority is not for your own personal gain (subscribe, like) but that you’re so excited to share your knowledge or tips or hacks! How refreshing!! Thank you for all the great info!!
