Love cultivates the atmosphere for truth to have its power. So true! So many times, people try to talk to you without love. They just want to give truth and it hurts you more. Not saying i dont want truth, i do. People need love and compassion.

This makes me think of peoples' testimonies, and a great quote that you said once: "If your 'testimony' is just something that happened to you 20 or 30 years ago, it's not a real testimony." That's so true, because when I hear people say "this is when I experienced God's love come and fill me," like that was IT for them, that was all they needed, they're capped off, and it happened a long time ago, then I feel that they're missing something more that could be happening, at least for now.

Thanks much for your comment. I've been working on making a handout (tract, if you will) of my testimony recently. And have hit a wall because I was running into THAT very issue and knew that I didn't want my testimony to be lame like other testimonies I have read. Thanks for nailing it down for me. I compare the love of God like an onion. As you peel away the various layers, one experiences deeper and deeper realms of God's love for us. Totally Awesome!!!!

It's been a very difficult year, not just do to covid, but some of my key closest relationships in my church have broken down even before covid hit. It's been hard to make new connections. I have a history of severe depression/suicidal thoughts. This is what drove two people out of my life. It was just too much for them. I'm having a very difficult time wanting to even be real with anyone, (other than therapist), about where I am at.

I am not in a depression, but I have been in 2 major depressions in my life. I know it is very difficult. I'm 57, and looking back I know God was there the whole time. It's been a long journey for me, and I can say for sure that God is with you in your depression. I am reminded now of Psalm 23, the Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want. To me that means that through these deep trials I've come to rely on the Holy Spirit to the point where I don't want anything besides Him. It has become easier to be without people all the time. I know that's counter to what he deJesus is telling us, ( that we experience love and growth in relationships). Obviously we need both; the deep relationship with God and people. But the intense trials I've experienced have helped me dig deeper into my relationship with God. I do have friends and I meet with them regularly, but I'm also able to go without people for a while too.

No, I don't love myself. That's exactly why I need to feel the love of God. He needs to reveal Himself to me in a big way because I feel abandoned. Before you start telling me what I haven't done, know that I pray every day, talk to God constantly all day, I praise and worship, and lie still and listen for His still quiet voice, I don't live a lifestyle of sin, I've repented, I take the Lord's Supper, and I witness to others. I'm doing all the work and getting nothing back. What gives?

Hi! if you don't mind, I suggest you watch Mark's other vids regards PBC(performance based Christianity) and OCD living, maybe it can answer some of the questions you may be asking at the moment :) It might not apply to everyone, but it sure did help me! Hope it can maybe help you too, I pray that your walk with Jesus turns out even better than now :D It's not easy, but just know, God's plan will always lead to life. Patience is key, we may not hear God in a literal sence, but just know He is talking and listening to your prayers, just be patient and trust in His timing. The battles can get rough, but just know that God has already won the war. Godbless♡ (sorry if this offended you or if didn't help much, even so, may God be with you in your journey)

@@JaneSmith0709i think it could be our expectations as well. To expieriance his love in an emotionally charged atmosphere maybe? ( just putting out there my own best way of explaining what i guess im looking for myself , i guess? ) maybe its due to our own disppointments in life in the area of love , maybe? Like we want to experiance love in a way that is truly fullfilling as in we are overwhelmed emotionally? Idk just thought id put that out there. Either way i hope as you seek him in such matters that you find him . May the lord god bless you in the name of jesus.

sometimes we cannot embrace Gods's love because we think that we always are gonna be blessed and when we go to large season of struggle (any kind of struggles) we think that God doesnt love us. Instead of saying that even tho our problems (because he never says that every moment of our lives we are gonna be blessed) he is with us, and he is helpings us, because remember things can always get worse, but the bible says that god he will let us go through things that we cannot bear
