I’m not a gtr guy but I have to say, the r32 and r33 is the best looking out of the gtr bunch. R32 looks light weight and looks like a proper gtr. The r33 is a proper successor. Then anything after just looks weird imo.

I meet a guy when I was living in Norfolk, VA who had a R32 GTS-T and a R33 GTR. He never brought out the R33, but he let me drive the R32. Wasn’t obviously a GTR, but still an experience driving a iconic legend.

I actually knew everything u mentioned, but i still enjoyed the video. In Gran Turismo Ps1 i was sick of all my friends using the same vettes and ferrari's etc. I searched for a sleeper to finally beat them. I saw R32 tail lights and heard that RB, was love at first sight and sound. Then i noticed the awd 4w steering and i never lost again, DESTROYED all my buddies by almost a full lap everytime.

Here's another fact for you; Ford Motor Co in the UK owned an R32 which it used to develop the Escort Cosworth. And although Nissan initially wanted to copy the 959's AWD system, it quickly dismissed the way it worked in favour of its own algorithms as the Porsche only moved its power around according to weight balance/transfer.

The 959 AWD system was front wheel biased and the R32 was rear wheel biased. The 959 had too much understeer and Nissan wanted the GT-R to get a lil sideways. Oversteer beats understeer all day every day.

Also sold in New Zealand and Australia. Also the car that changed racing at Bathurst for ever. Making it a Ford Holden 8V only race. Where as before the Nissan Skyline GTR and even mini's (infact any car) all raced on the same track at same time.

Actually, there are 2 base of ATTESA 4WD System, the FF base ATTESA 4WD System like Nissan Bluebird SSS-R & Nissan Pulsar GTi-R for competing in Group.A WRC, & FR base ATTESA 4WD System like Nissan Skyline GT-R you mentioned to compete in Group.A Touring Car Racing

Back in 1990, I inquired about getting a Skyline GTS. I knew about the GTR, but wanted a more basic, but unique car in California. Found out that back then Nissan dealers were prohibited from bringing the cars in. The Running joke was that in the South Bay area of Los Angeles County you'd see them all the time. I did find an importer but the car was cost prohibitive.

BCNR33 are in even higher demand than BNR32s right now. I bought shit myself when I looked up and saw those cars are going for 50k now. It seems like just yesterday when they would sit on lots for 6 months at a time because they were 10k and that was considered over priced. Times have really changed! But I think its just the typical internet fan boy dummies that tell you they hate the BCNR33. Because overall its a great car and the market right now definitely shows that it is more loved than the BNR32.

It's funny that every GT-R I race in forza is always slow as balls because I race with no driver assists, so no Attessa system is active. Without that Attessa system, you're just left with a stock motor that feels underwhelming when splitting power to four wheels.

When the the American boarder regulation laws loosened for Japanese imports, the the price of a R32, R33 and R34 GTR skyline , sky rocketed everyone knows this outside the USA.

The Australian R32s of the Nissan/Winfield team led by Fred Gibson were arguably the fastest in Group A racing, so fast the Australian officials first tried to knobble them with extra minimum weight and later boost restrictors (which the team sneakily managed to bypass) and even more weight, but it was to no avail, the combination of 4wd and the enormous engine power (with the boost restrictors bypassed) were just too good for their rivals (BTW, The Australian cars did not use the four wheel steer system). The cars were so much faster than the opposition the officials effectively banned them by changing the rules to not allow turbo or supercharging. In its first year at Bathurst the GTR was seven seconds faster than the previous model, the R31 GT-S, and set a race lap time four seconds faster than the previous years fastest lap set by a Sierra Cosworth RS500 which had up to the introduction of the GTR dominated Group A racing.

For me, the R32 GT-R IS a supercar in disguise. So with the R33 GT-R and R34 GT-R. Only when R35 GT-R came out, it went all-out, busting other supercars.

100 R32 GTR's were imported by Nissan Australia and sold through Nissan dealerships. This was done to satisfy the homologation requirements for the ATCC. They didn't have all the badges the JDM version had, the tail lights were slightly different to the JDM version and only came in black, silver or red. Australia is the only country outside of Japan that sold R32 GTR's.

Here's some facts about how much of a hyperfan I am. I specifically bought a 92 because that was the last year they were allowed to run, and I built it to 630hp because that's how much they entered Group A with before being nerfed, and I did it while still retaining the stock low mount twins configuration. I also bought the car from Yokohama specifically because it's the birthplace of Shinichiro. Yep, I'm a nerd.

Hey I also have a 92. How do you like the factory low mounts running that power? I’m currently running Hks vcam and twin GTIII-SS’s making around 410 and it’s a really linear power band. I wanna step up to around what you’re running and have been debating twins vs single.

Learned one new thing, and that is you don't have to do any research to release a video like this, R32 gtr's were also sold new in Australia not just Japan, rb26 engines were available in 4door sedans but in non turbo form (autech gts-4). Also NISMO remanufacturing many of the discontinued parts, so getting OEM parts is not an issue.

1 fact you mentioned isn't correct...the R32 was officially sold in Australia and the UK. Wasn't a huge seller, but it was sold in those markets. I remember seeing one in a Nissan dealership in Sydney.

I own 1 R34 sedan myself haha just sold off another one I had and am in the process of building an RB30DET for my current one, it's in immaculate condition but the engine and body has 300XXX kms on it so engine swap / rebuild is necessary, although looking at it when originally purchasing I thought it had < 100xxx kms considering how good shape the body / chassis is in aswell as interior being perfect in every way. They're my favourite skyline hahahaha

That's not a GT-R. It's a stagea, people convert the front end (not just the bumper) as the chassis is close enough to make the conversion fairly straightforward. There is no Stagea GT-R

The Funeral skid shown near the start is not a GTR, famous New Zealand video, but never claimed to be a GTR, it's surprising that some of you need to be told there's lower spec skylines. Australia even has there own designed and assemble R31

The R34 is the best GT-R, however, I'll probably never be able to afford one. I'm probably going to be looking for a GTS-T someday.

If you can manage to find a ENR34 then go that route but they are expensive for a N/A R34 and the production numbers are even lower than the BNRs but they are mainly just a BNR without the 26 and Getrag. They have ATESSA ETS and everything. Most go for mid 30s. If not find a clean ER34 coupe that hasn't been beat on. If you can find a N/A auto that would be perfect as they are the least expensive and most havent been abused. Then build from there. ER34 coupe turbos it is almost too late for them. Most are rapidly approaching 40k and they arent legal until 2023 so I cant even imagine what they will be like when they are legal. With the way the demand is now in the R34 coupe market I definitely see ER34 turbos costing just as much as BCNR33s if not a little more even though the BCNR33 is a much better car. I bought a ER34 N/A auto coupe February 2018 grade 4 from the auction and it costed after the fees and delivery $3200. But now the same exact car is easily bringing in 12k just 2 and a half years later, its crazy.

I've seen a few r32 gtr in Canada for sale around 30k witch is nice tbh for the price but when and if I buy one I'd import one from Japan for a legit example or get a real one that's already in Canada

Don't forget that the Nürburgring was way different (read: slower) back then compared to now. So times would not be comparable, but if you would want to do that, take into account that the R32 would be faster on todays version of the ring.

Its weird watching Americans talk about skylines like they've had them for years. Lol. A few facts for the Americans. The r32 GTR was sold new in Australia. Limited run but was sold here. They did actually make an r33 4 door GTR. Made by autech and extremely rare. The hicas system is great in theory but in my experience it causes more problems than it solves. The r31 skyline was actually built in Australia and uses an rb30 engine. Buy a stagea. Its literally an r33 skyline wagon. Much rarer and better than a skyline.

8:10 CORRECTION: There is ONE Skyline GT-R that came in 4-door: the Nissan Skyline (BCNR33) GT-R Autech. It was an R33 GT-R, but with NO TURBOS (or wing), and had 4 doors. It also had a non-turbo front-end.

the r33 gtr 40th anniversary sedan made by autech did have turbos and r33 gtr front end the r32 autech had a non turbo rb26 and sedan front
