Okay so here are the facts: The Tesla Model S Plaid is not the quickest (fastest accelerating) car in the world. It did 0-60mph in 1.99 seconds, calculated with 1 foot rollout. The Rimac Nevera is the official fastest accelerating production car, it did 0-60mph in 1.78 seconds. No prepped drag strip, no drag tires. I can't remember if 1 foot rollout was used or not though. For those claiming that any of these cars are the quickest: - Dodge Challenger Demon 170 - Tesla Roadster - Pinninfarina Batista - Aspark Owl - Mcmurtry Speirling - Devel Sixteen - Koenigsegg Gemera The Demon 170 claims 1.66 seconds however thats with a prepped drag surface, drag tires, and 1 foot rollout + has never been proven. Aspark Owl claims 1.7 seconds. Never proven. Tesla Roadster (2nd gen) hasn't even released yet, and even then, Tesla is still claiming 1.9 seconds 0-60. Pinninfarina Batista WAS the fastest accelerating production car for a short amount of time, until the Rimac Nevera beat the record. The Mcmurtry Speirling, while it is a hell of a lot quicker, isnt road legal. Usually these records are for homologated production cars. Basically meaning road legal. Koenigsegg claims the Gemera will have 2300hp. I personally don't doubt this because of their history and they have explained the details behind this. However horsepower isnt everything. And a 4 seater hypercar likely won't do 0-60 in 1.7 seconds. And if you said the Devel Sixteen... just... leave. You're clearly delusional...

Surprised the Nissan A14 / A15 engines used in the B210, 210, F10, mini pickups and sentra did not make the list, these motors self destruct by 100000, due to oil issues with the bearing. Mine 210 died at 75000 miles and the replacement engine had issues constantly that last 2 months I owned it it spent time at the dealership more then I drove it. Other is the Iron Duke engine that had issues from 1981 to 88.

Pls don’t compare it to a gtr or an f1 car because they weren’t made for acceleration. Some students made a car that can do 0-60 in under 1 second… so the Tesla still isn’t that impressive and is just a plastic piece of garbage which will be thrown away in about 15 years

Those cars even used are not made to be sold to the average person, the cost to maintain these a year will be at least $1,200, the Aston Martin is $6,500 a year just for maintenance, and those figures don't include repairs. They tell you that if own a car like those to have about $12,000 in savings for eventual repairs. Also, the average maintenance is not peak maintenance, it's just oil changes, air filter changes, and coolant changes, the high end of the maintenance would easily make those average figures go up 3 times, and on the low side, some might only be $600, others like the Aston Martin will be higher. And you better have a mechanic nearby who understands the car you buy, for some cars like the Aston Martin, finding a great mechanic who knows the car inside and out is far and few between. The best way for an average person to own one is a person who understands mechanical repair and can do their own work, intelligent enough they will learn as they go how to work on it, and be able to do every single type of repair that can happen on a car, saving the cost of labor, and saving the cost of part prices being hiked up 200% for shop profit.

You had me up until the Wrangler. I've owned one or eleven years and 184,000+ miles. I achieve fuel economy as high as 23 mpg, so I fail to see how that is poor fuel economy for an SUV that is shaped like the box it came in, and can go off-road.
