To: World Friends: Please find someone who could speak CHAVACANO. It is a language/dialect that is spoken in Zamboanga in the Philippines. Chavacano is a group of Spanish-based creole language varieties spoken in the Philippines. Then let's compare them with modern Spanish and Portuguese. ^^

Fun Fact that we must not forget. We are not saved by Americans regarding PH vs Spain War, we are winning the war that time, the Spaniards just doesn't want admit and submit/loss to Filipino's by selling the war to the Americans who later invade the PH never forget people. We must learn our kasaysayan that it just doesn't revolve to Spanish, American, Japanese era we have our own Native Rich Culture, we owe this one this to our own ancestors who fight for our freedom. In my opinion these colonizer they don't even conquer the whole Philippines just a portion, especially Mindanao or Visayan with a Muslim culture who are known for being brave.

I think, most of Portugal and Spanish words have similar Visayas and Mindanao words, i think tagalog only represents, correct me if i am wrong, the region 4. My take to be fair, kindly find someone who knows Northern and Southern dialects, someone not fluent but have a little chunk of small things in all regions.

Quizás porque Filipinas en realidad no tuvo una conexión directa con España sino con México (Nueva España en ese entonces) con el Galeón De Manila que unía Manila con Acapulco, y quizás en España no daban la importancia suficiente a tal punto de olvidarlo!! La prueba de la poca conexión con España está en cómo pronuncian la Z, la pronunciación como los latinoamericanos!!

If she mentioned those other words she won’t be able to show them the connection with Spanish. Also many countries don’t often have 2 or more ways/languages of saying 1 word/object/phrase. If anything they’d be confused especially since we count in English, Spanish and Filipino on occasion 😂

I think it’s because she’s referring to the more common words Filipinos use on a daily. For instance, people would normally say “Nasa banyo ako” compared to “nasa palikuran ako”. The latter is just weird and I dont think even the elderly still say palikuran.
