Also this video is an add on to the ETA and Trip planning video, 2 videos ago. This is evidence of why trip planning, and being smart about how you control your clock, is very important!
The rant is almost getting taken out by a swift driver!

@@Zenikai_ thank you for subbing! That was an easy tarp job though because it was a flat box lol. The next load after that wasnt lol I just recorded a segment for this week's video, but I said in that video that I ordered another GoPro 11 which I'll get when I go home for the first time this coming weekend. So I'll have one off to the side videoing the whole truck then one on a head mount for my view. I'm thinking that I'll edit it to be split screen with both views. We'll see if that works or not 🤣

Thanks! Of all the companies that don't have any more facing cameras, Swift should definitely still be one of them!

Sometimes, there is no avoiding it. I was just in arizona, and truck stops were full by 1pm. But yes, most of the time if you get there by 3 or 4 you are all good. I aim for no later than 5. Ive never blocked anyone in. If its that full, I go to a rest area. Truckers path really helps to see whats full or mostly empty.

@@BTyler808 I haven't used trucker path yet. I have it on my phone, but I also try to be parked NLT 1500. Like right now I'm just west of San Antonio TX and I just stopped at the loves. It's 1441 and over half the parking is open. The UI of TP is really cluttered though. That's the main reason I don't use it.

hotshots are FMCSA regulated just like you , same rules different equipment , do yourself a favor and ignore swift , youll burn brain cells in frustration , Id watch out for the other megas Prime, Schneider, 2nd reason I got out of driving was parking , I drove 0300-1400 my DM learned my habits and planned me accordingly. I also showered on my 30 when the truck stops were empty

@@irishsurfer70 thank you for educating me sir! I am also trying to develop that same driving hours, but I keep getting stupidly short runs. When I was with my mentor we never got anything less than 1,100 miles a load for all three weeks. I'm entering my third week solo now and haven't had anything over 800 🤦‍♂️. Yeah I talked to my mentor about it and he essentially said the same thing. If I notice a driver being stupid I just slow down and put a gap between me and the stupidity!

@@JJsTruckingLife they should be able to get you 2k + miles per week even with short runs , flatbed is alot of sitting , so is reefer , I drove dry and hazmat/tanker in a dry van for over 4 yrs never sat unless I wanted to , you'll love flatbed and tarps when its negative temps! Learn as much as you can and start looking for the better miles , your DAC and CSA will dictate what companies will want you after a year
