The one Phil Ivey story I heard was the one where he was still young and played in a cash game in LA. By this time he was winning and losing his small bankrolls. Then came a hand where it was a huge pot (at the time for Ivey) of about $30K. Winning THAT pot was what set in motion for Ivey to start playing in bigger games and the rest is history. But like any poker stories, not sure how true...

#10 ...... "The Borgata Scandal" ?...... It was the Borgata that acted dishonorably in that situation, NOT Phil. Phil went there and played THEIR game, with THEIR rules, with THEIR equipment, on THEIR turf...... and using his intelligence & natural skills, he beat them !! Then the Borgata welches on their debts, and uses a corrupt legal system to screw over a winning player !!

The casino knew about the card issue. They were gambling that Ivey couldn't beat the house. And when he did, they came crying to daddy government.

Ivey doesn’t hv edge sorting skills, he relied on his Chinese partner to do this for him to win, that’s a shameful part of borgata game

I realize Ivy himself didn't do the edge-sorting, that skill takes long long months (even years) to perfect. Ivey's intelligence to reconnoiter the suitable game.... and.... Ivey's skills to choose & work with the best partner for the project. That's what I'm talking about, and there ISN'T the slightest thing shameful about it ! Their business partnership could have ended in a very expensive failure, and they brought the $$ to pay up if they lost. An honest casino would do the same thing if they lose !!

The only difference between Ivey and Stu Unger is Ivey doesn't do drugs. Well, except for adrenaline. He WORKS at poker and throws his money away on sports betting. He skipped WSOP events one year because he had a 2 million dollar bet with a LA lawyer over Lakers winning their championship.

thirteenth curiosity: he is a cheater who does not deserve respect or memory! eliminate this crap, ivey only deserves a lesson in honesty, and maybe a trip to the psychiatrist to satiate his gambling addiction
