Cummins official name for this motor is ISB5.9 (model) CM2880 B127 (fuel system). It was made in a China plant (Dong Feng)

This is cool. There are some many factory OEM Cummins engine platforms in the world most people don’t know about. There is a lot of different engine, fuel and air configurations out there. There is a OEM Cummins 12V w/ a VP44 pump, engine out there. Trucks, boats, heavy equipment, gen’s etc. plus other country’s. South America is still tier 2 emission. Start looking.

The thing to finish of this engine really nicely would be a well suited vgt turbo to make full use of the common rail, well performing strong engine with no smoke 💨

I am pretty certain that Samsun heavy equipment used the same 12v common rail setup ,I seen several working in South America in a large excavator, and front loader. Samsung equipment is made in South Korea and China. I served maintained them.

If only there was a way to reverse engineer it and sell a common rail setup for a 12 valve here in the states.
@markrich32712 жыл бұрын
I've thought about using the stock third gen ecu allot for rewiring my 01 24v . It could be done with all stock part just think about it all the parts are available and there. Imo the best part of the common rail is the head. I own both 12v and 24 and much prefer my 24. What made me think about it was a kit I own that converts a ls1 ecu to fit a first gen small block Chevy.

The best part of most 12vs may be the ppump but that doesn’t necessarily mean the Ppump is superior to a common rail system
@jonathonroyce94952 жыл бұрын
@@ratherbefishing4225 No but it will surely last longer.
@Magucci132 жыл бұрын
Okay? Doesn't mean the common rail is worse than a p-pump. I'm fact is is FARRRR superior. More fuel control and better atomization

Was your 12-valve common rail made by the Dongfeng Cummins Engine Company (DCEC) in Hubei, China? How has it compared to the USA-made 12-valve so far? How many miles on it? Did you subject it to high-performance use? Whom did you buy it through? I am considering their 4BT and want to avoid making a big mistake.
@jonathonroyce94952 жыл бұрын
It's only cool because you've never seen one. I think most 12v owners really like their P7100 for a good reason, reliability.
