They were 1-2 feet diameter commonly in perhistoric times. Spiders have a passive breathing system and the oxygen rich atmosphere allowed them to grow much larger.

Yep, I've experienced both huntsman spiders and camel spiders in Southern California. Lol they ain't lying about how the huntsman is the fastest. I've never seen any spider move that quickly before. It's truly freaky.

when i lived in Hawaii i was about to take a shower then as i was about to step in i looked at the floor AND THERE IS A CANE SPIDER! and it was a huge spider and i'm very terrified of spiders so i screamed at a very high pitch that i didn't know was possible and then lost my voice the next day

One time when i was staying the night at my aunts i was in a sleeping bag on the floor and i saw the BIGGEST spider i had ever seen it was so tall but fat and just so big. I ran to tell my aunt but when we came back it was gone. She said to me. "Welp u better not sleep with your mouth open" i had never been so scared lol

I've seen a HUGE spider here in York, Pa, USA that I think is an unknown species. The spider is more body than legs, and is the size of the yellow line down the middle of the road, and eating a small rat wouldn't be a problem. To big for even a bird to pick up. I've seen two of them over the years. Sure wish I knew what it was.
