I really appreciate this review! I also wish her website added a few more models and general diversity in skin tones, especially as many of us have pigmented lips. This was incredibly helpful as a reference, and now I am one of the many people who wishes I grabbed Velvet Dragon & Affair!

Affair and dragon will get restocked so please do sign up to Lisa's newsletter on her website. I've heard they are planning for the restock in spring but I'm hoping they will be able to do it earlier 🤞

@@RashiRamalho I LOVE HER LIPSTICKS.. it’s so stunning.. I collected quite huge amount this year except myth which I find it almost same as jazz. But lisa stands out in her understanding of undertones in lipsticks which can be played in so many ways for all the skin tones. I Loved all the shades you picked up it’s gorgeous especially myth made you look like an EGYPTIAN PRINCESS. Velvet carnival is a neon fuchsia which hard to pull off even for me. It’s stunning when worn with the right makeup/outfit especially a Indian look and as a blush on the cheeks (all her lipsticks in fact as blushes = chef’s kiss). Excellent swatches I could keep watching these colours all day. 👍🏻👍🏻 Her brand gives me a peace of mind amongst other harsh moments.

@@ohmygodamprince wow Ganga that is so incredible! Thank you for sharing your thoughts. I'm so new to these lipsticks but wow the colours are amazing. I've been wearing them for the last 2 days and no doubt will keep wearing them. Carnival and morning are shades I will wear with a lip liner or mixed in with another shade. But they are striking nonetheless. You are right tho, the type of makeup will make or break carnival haha Myth was a very surprising shade for me. I often find that I dont like deep berry shades but myth is incredible. Same with affair, the undertone is perfect🤤

You are beautiful and pull off all of the shades. However in my opinion both warm reds velvet dragon and morning are absolutely perfect for you, followed by the deep red v jazz and the v muse as a perfect nude that really suits.

Yes affair sold out within an hour after the release and many people didn't manage to get their hands on it. I believe they will restock in spring.

Loved your choices! I thought of picking carnival and morning and am thankful I didn't......still thinking about velvet beauty though! I picked up blush, affair, dragon, and decade this time and love all of them!

@@RashiRamalho I was afraid that decade might look too cool on me but it is beautiful.....it has red undertones which helps me not look dead and cold! It's a red chocolate brown on me...perfect for fall!

I have a medium warm-olive skin tone & I’m picking-up Affair…..that shade looks gorgeous on you so I hope it will work on me as well!👍 Had considered Fawn but thought it might pull just slightly light & perhaps a bit cool on me. I know exactly what you mean when you referred to going too cool or having to be careful w/“neutrals” that can read too ashy/gray- EXACTLY my experience….those shades SO easily wash me out!😬

Hey girl! Been a minute since I've commented haha I could not agree more with you on the models for Lisa Eldridge's site - all beautiful women but none are close to my own skin tone so at times, its like a gamble haha I am SO happy I got to see Velvet Affair on you!! When I went to purchase that shade it was sold out so when it comes back in stock, I'll be grabbing it (hopefully she'll have re-stock by the holidays). That shade and Myth!! I purchased Velvet Blush, Dragon and Midnight and of the 3, Blush was the biggest surprise cause it looks almost like the perfect dare I say neutral rosy pinky mauve on me whereas on the models it looks like a dark plummy pink almost. Great video on the shades and it's nice to see all the shades swatched together too! I also have Velvet Decade so if you're interested in seeing swatches of Midnight and Decade, lmk on IG and I can send you pics

Sidenote - Velvet Carnival is not working for me haha while it's a beautiful colour to look at, I find your comment about it being "bubble gum pink" to be spot on. If it was more fuschia, I would have been more interested in it for sure. I have so much yellow in my skin that a pink that shade, it's like the white tones make it look more pastely on me haha

I really love this new launch. Apart from carnival, I just adore affair, blush and dragon. Affair is even better than muse. I don't have anything in my collection like affair so I'm super happy with it. Totally recommend u grab it when it restocks. It was the first shade to sell out on their website. Yup blush was such a surprise, wore it to work yesterday and got compliments and wore the gloss today. The gloss is very nice and hydrating even tho itz not that pigmented.

Wow.Affair looks gorgeous on you. Can you please do a video on brown lipsticks for pigmented lips like us.Every brown shade I buy end up looking mauvey toned or not brown.Its so frustrating.

Ahhhh too late, all the lipsticks are sold out. I didn’t get Affair because there was no one resembling my skin colour (NC42) on the site which is why I didn’t get it. They’re pretty much all gone now :(

That is the downside of buying these lipsticks. They sell out too quickly. Orders were also all shipped on 19th of Oct so not possible for anyone to have had a video up for pre order. I think Affair sold out within the first hour of release. I have heard that they will stock up again in spring so maybe watch out for that?

Wear is like a normal matte lipstick and also varies depending on colour. Nudes don't last as long as deeper colours. Today I'm wearing shade muse and have comfortable wear for 3 hours after having a big breakfast and several cups of coffee.

Thanks so much for this review! It's so hard to find reviews for people around my skin tone! I thought Carnival looked surprisingly good on you, but I can see what you mean by Skyscraper Rose being The Hot Pink/Fuchsia for you. Incidentally, how does Velvet Myth compare to Burning Love by Mac?

Thanks so much Prachi! Burning love and Myth are pretty much indistinguishable from each other. I've swatched both side by side and I really can't tell a difference. Perhaps burning love has a little bit more of a grape undertone but seriously, if you have one, you don't need the other😘

Last year I placed a big order so got priority shipping and that was very quick and yup I was able to track. Standard shipping might take some time but you should still be able to track. I know this year's orders haven't shipped yet

I have one of her glosses and I love it. Itz actually quite hydrating and I often wear it when I have excessively dry lips and cannot bear to wear lipstick.

@@RashiRamalho Yes😍😍 the shades are really pretty and the formula looks amazing on the lips. Doesn't look dry at all inspite of being a matte finish. I thought of picking up the gloss, Velvet Affair Lipstick and Velvet Blush Lipstick. But the gloss and the Velvet Affair Lipstick are out of stock. Have to wait. 😅

@@linakhonglah3423 I wore it to work all day and it didn't dry out my lips at all despite being a VERY matte lipstick. Wore well too throughout the day, I only topped up after eating. I really like the formula! The downside offcourse is that these always sell out very quickly. I suggest you sign up to Lisa's newsletter on her website so you will be notified when they get back in stock

They are definitely similar with Blush being a tad deeper with a muted purple berry undertone whereas third date is a wee bit brighter with more of a reddish berry undertone.
